Only the paranoid will survive!

I beg to differ. Most "true gamers" don't go in Zanzibar, in my experiance.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

Yeah i consider myself a semi gamer and i hate the Zanzibar. I feel less intellegent for going there sometimes.

So i come here to balance it out.

I'm afraid to go in Zanzibar anymore. When I read posts in there I think of things to type that would get me blacklisted.

  • 11.08.2005 3:25 PM PDT

Heck no I don't go there. You know all of that stuff I said about having fun, well, I don't have "fun" in Zanzibar.

Call me a -blam!-y old gentleman psycho, or whatever the word for it is around here these days- but that forum does have some issues, no mater how you candy coat things. I admit I post there on occasion, but not with any pleasure.

-EDIT-

In other news, the word for a female dog has been blocked by the -blam!- filter, woe is me.

Sadly the optimatch has turned into a warzone and spam central ever sense Fire let on the BTB might go by by has a ranked game.

We need to do a community clean up.

Just because we don't post about something doesn't mean we don't notice it. What you posted has been mentioned. You wrote a lot, but it was essentially the same thing.

Yes your post was talked about. I recall Pimp and myself referenced it.
But listing the tyes of people from your own opinion doesnt really solve the problems.

not the post, the point.

that bungie is made up of all kinds of people that don't always get along. and some that do. and that there is nothing really that can be done about this as far as the forums go.

You're right. And Banshee said that before you. You didn't really need to echo him.

  • 11.08.2005 7:11 PM PDT

Well, that pretty much summed everything up. (At entire thread)

I see the light!

I understand even though i dont know what we solved.

But you guys say we did so we did!!!

Now lets all go to the flood and be more intelligent then everyone!

not really, but its irrelevant. but i know for sure that im not the first to say it or think it. equality is a good thing, but it wont be reached.

there was a chinese term for that...yin and yang i believe. an essential part of Karma. for every good a bad, for ever good deed a misdeed, for every fart a sneeze; sometimes, simultaneously. for every post a bad post, etc.

which is why the karma system won't work. there will be as many people striving for a negative rating as there will be a postive one.

and that post proves that nothing was solved. if the problem was ever solved, Bungie.net would be on either end of the spectrum of order and chaos. thus making it, not really a problem so much as, "the way things are".

I can't believe this thread is still going. I have a suggestion:

Do what I do, that is, have a life.

I'm not calling anybody a loser or anything like that. I'm being totally serious. I spend a lot of my time on the ole PC, but I do not obsess over forums and act like the community was once so tight everybody knew each other. Because, it has never been like that. I have been around on various names for a little over a year and a half. That doesn't make me quite "OldSkool", but who gives a blam?

If you see someone who you don't like, or a post you don't like, then IGNORE IT/THEM. Do not start Spam btiching about spam. That is totally stupid.

I use GoogleTalk to IM a Forum Ninja whenever necessary, defend the innocent person if possible, but I don't cry about it and create broing-ass long treads about the subject.

In fact, I wouldn't normally post something like this, but it's my two cents on the subject. I feel like everyone here should read and obide by it. It's simple and helpful. It's basically tips to not look like the "old gentlman" in Reginkos post on page 3, I believe.

Sumary: SHHHH!!!

P.S. Pardon my lack of proper grammar and formatting, I wrote this in haste of annoyance.

And get over yourself, nobody is "too good" for a certain forum.

ugh.

I have to agree on Ancient about The Flood as of late. I've posted pretty much exclusively to the Flood since I joined, and I'll tell you, it was a great forum to go to back then. Sadly, from what I've seen recently, a majority of the posters there are raving monkeys who can't carry on an intellegent conversation to save their lives. I've come here for a while to get away from it all.

Sorry if my post is flawed, I'm extremely tired right now.

That's also what I was going to get at. Though it is unfortunate Ancient, things like this just happen. Move on. For better or worse, the community was bound to change at some point and it will change again as time passes. You can either stay or leave.

As for me, I'm getting some sleep now.

I go there sometimes to attempt intelligible conversation, and after 10 minutes I can feel the hate and the urge to flame is almost impossible to resist.
