Subject: halo shouldn't end like it did.

S.R

I don't think Bungie should it have stop making Halo games. The story itself is amazing and it feels that it shouldn't stop, like something is missing. Thats' just my opinion. Besides in the end of halo3 the master chief told cortana, " wake me when you need me." after they went back to reach.
Just my opinions

Don't worry, you're still your mom's favorite Bnet member.

The ending was perfect. It tied it all in. There's no need to make more Halo games.

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

The ending was better than I could have hoped for. I perfer for the story arc of the Master Chief to end there. It was a perfect ending.

Bungie has been doing Halo for 10 years, they want to move on.

That also went in my mind, but just didn't feel that the master chief should it have said what he said. It makes me feel that it should be one last one where it really tied's everything together.

Just my opinion.

Thats' true.

In Soviet Russia you pilot many flying vehicles while Nikolai embarks on crazy journey of revenge filled with movie references....

The ending was good. If Bungie continued on with the Chief as their main character, it'd either be him mopping up Covenant forces by taking back former UNSC planets, or they'd have to introduce a new enemy which would kill the story for many, many people.

Having the UNSC try to exterminate the other races of the Covenant aside from the elites would be bad storywise because the humans aren't in a state to undertake such a feat.

What could be done (and might end up being done by 343 studios) is to take other Spartans or ODSTs or even marines from earlier in the war and make a game out of them. There's I think four decades worth of fighting that the books barely even scratch.

This would be the most logical and best option 343 could take. The war took 27 years, there is plenty of war to be fought and described.

I would like them to start with the Battle of Jericho VII.

With the way Bloodlines went, I think the Forerunner could end up being enemies for the chief again.

Plus, the flood is still a massive threat.

Not enough closure in the story. I didn't feel it was right for the chief to end up spending the rest of eternity floating in space after all he's given to the universe. It's good that Bungie have finished with the series however, after the disaster which was the storyline of halo reach I'm interested in what 343 studios can bring to the table in the form of consistent storyline (no huge retcons) and fresh ideas.

smart, interesting, seems out of place.

Official fan of Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty, (Problem with that?) Halo, and Bungie, also a total gaming junkie.

It would be awesome to fight the Flood and Forerunners who believe him to be a heretic, since the Legendary ending planet is most likely a Precursor planet, and try to kill him for touching a holy planet.

  • 11.11.2010 6:36 PM PDT

Reachhhhhhhh

I'm extremely excited to see if Bungie can top themselves by making an even more captivating universe that caters to the new tastes of the video game market.

I'm fine if they maybe go for realism this time even if it is just for money, as long as they do something different.

umm what? the forerunners don't think of themselves as gods. The flood is an obvious statement, good. But the forerunners probably not.

Forerunner planet. Not Reach.

The games should end this way yes, but the books and comics will continue for a while.

What would you expect humanity to give him?

Notice that the only acknowledgment of John at the end of H3 is in graffiti. The ONI wasn't very open about the Spartan II program because the less people knew about the Spartans, the more god-like humanity might imagine them to be, which is why "Spartans never die" was such a success. On top of that, how would you describe to the public that your super soldiers are in fact, kidnapped children?

Even more, consider John. He's the one that said no soldier should be honored for doing what is expected of him. John is a Spartan II, he's expected to do the impossible. He would probably have looked at that 117 on the rear of that pelican and had been disappointed with whoever made it.

“Strange,” mused the Director, as they turned away, “strange to think that even in Our Ford’s day most games were played without more apparatus than a ball or two and a few sticks and perhaps a bit of netting. imagine the folly of allowing people to play elaborate games which do nothing whatever to increase consumption.”

wiped out over Installation 00?

Think before you post

I couldn't picture Chief coming back to Earth, and living in a time that wasn't war. He's a fighter, thats what he does. It would be too awkward of an ending. That being said, I'm glad they left it off when they did.

*facedesk*
*facewall*

You realise that the flood will never be wiped out?
-They are extragalactic, they are probably on other galaxies
-Every Halo rings got a flood prison and there are 5 other rings
-Probably more flood forms in other gas mines or planets like Halo wars

I think they need to do a good ending for master chief that leaves you feeling good and not wondering "What is he gonna do now?" That's what i think.

I didn't mean like medals or public displays of appreciation in is honour or anything like that, just simply that it is a bit rough having him float in space possibly never to be found.

I agree that he is a fighter and war is the only thing he's ever known so he probably wouldn't live a civvie life, but would it have been so bad to have an ending where he makes it back to our galaxy, and then is given a corvette or something similar by Half-jaw to search for the traces of remaining spartans, ie those trapped in the shield world.

"Wake me...when you need me."

Halo isn't over.

  • 11.12.2010 5:53 AM PDT

i say a good story for 343 would be forerunners fighting the flood and the consruction of the halo rings and the ark

  • 11.12.2010 6:44 AM PDT

Always Carry a Shotgun

Reach was awesome, but IMO it does not feel like halo. For me it was like the best thing i ever ate, but then left a weird taste in my mouth...

Just does not feel like halo...
