You fight a Field Marshall on 2 different occasions. The first is in a cutscene. The second is at the very end of PoA.

They're after the Forerunner data. Do the math.

Three times. The Elite that killed Kat was a Field Marshall, confirmed by Bungie.

Yeah, 3 times:
- At Visegrad Relay station, after Sorvad's discovery of the Latchkey. Field Marshall escapes.
- New Alexandria, aboard the Phantom that pursues Noble Team as they head to the fallout bunker. Field Marshall kills Kat and retreats into the troop bay after.
- Lone Wolf, completely buttrapes N6 with his energy shank.

This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.
/slow clap for respect

:)
The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

Here's the thread/theory I made about the same thing a while back. It was pretty succesfull.

Matter of fact, in Lone Wolf, that was a Zealot, not a Field Marshall.

It was to my understanding that you kill the Field Marshal at the end of Pillar of Autumn. He's one of the Elites guarding the cannon after Emile's killed. Could be wrong though.

Andy

Speaking of Emile, it was 2 Elite Zealots that attacked him, right?

And those few Elites that can dual wield, those are Zealots as well?

Yes, he's the one with the Fuel Rod Gun.

in regards to the foot we see when noble 6 is being killed by elites hes holding the sword with the left hand not the right like we saw on wc which could mean they injured him or diferent field marshal

The Field Marshal from Winter Contingency was right handed...

I would seriously love to know who started the stupid rumors that the Elite who pulls out a sword with his left hand has some great significance when there has been none established prior to Reach.

My point is why do people assume it's automatically a high ranking elite such as an Arbiter, or as you've said, another Field Marshall. There is no precedence for what being left handed means for an Elite.

I remember when the game first came out, people were saying a Spartan comes to rescue you in the end and you see his foot and an energy sword......when its so clearly an elites foot. >_>

Signatures are for squares.

I personally like to think that was the same Field Marshall each time. He escapes, because of Carters orders not to pursue. It was because of that order that he lost the closest person to him, Kat.

And after Carters death Six avenges Kat when he kills the Field Marshall guarding the MAC. And then Six ensures the Covenants loss of the war.

I like it, it's like a substory but you need to put it together yourself. It isn't thrown at you.

Kat was killed by a Zealot I thought?

Anyway, I think that there is only one Field Marshal, or at least very few of them in the campaign since Field Marshal tends to be above Generals (at least in most militaries) and are the highest rank in most armies.
