well see how it looks with backwards comp. on the 360. hopefully they pulled a few tricks in hte games favor.

Nah. Even the guy in Bungie said, theres no reason to buy one immediatley when you can play on regular x-box. halo 1 and 2 are both played on a regular basis in every town, city, and shindig.

Halo will be like Mario. Everyone has played it, everyone loves it. In 10 or 15 years, very few people will still have XBox, and those that do have one with Halo will be the envy of a lot of people, like how it is with the NES and Mario. It will be a timeless classic.

I agree that itll end up like Mario or Chrono Crusade, with a few old-timers having played it but most people never even seeing it in real life.

Just like anything with a cult following, it will go for the next 20-30 years as a something big that affected us when we were younger. Not everyone will know what it was or those that do know, wouldn't have ever seen it. I've never seen the old school atari arcade machines, but my dad has, and he still plays old games like those. I don't, it just wasn't in my generation.

It will not be "forgotten", but will not be played as much. I mean, look at it this way. Did people forget the PS1, but no one plays it like they used to. Halo 1 will never be forgotten, it's a classic.

No way! I'll personally won't give up my Halo Xbox and I still play this game today. The difference between the old consoles and the new consoles is huge. I believe people will still be playing XBOXes and PS2s in the future unless they are like "ooo nasty, you use a controller?"

Even after the Xbox 360 comes out people will still be buying Halo. People that want Halo 3 are mainly people that have played Halo 1 and 2, and most of those people are good enough fans to keep playing the first installments. The people that don't have an Xbox but are getting an Xbox 360 and are planning to get Halo 3 will buy Halo 1 and 2 if they're smart. I won an Xbox 360 at everytenminutes.com, and I went out and bought the Halo triple pack and Halo was the first thing I played on it even though I had a 360 game. Halo will live for a very long time.

  • 11.30.2005 9:08 PM PDT

Well from what I hear HaloCE looks pretty stunning on the 360, so hats off to the backward-compatibility people on that one. That should mean fans of it will keep it around for a while longer. Plus, I believe that Halo will become a classic. Hell, several drunken nights still end with me playing Goldeneye on the N64 with my mates these days; what a brilliant multiplayer game that was. Licence to kill, Pistols!!!!!!!! I think that's the way Halo will go.

Half Life the Original is going really strong still, and that has been around for over seven years now. Halo is in the same Legacy as Half Life, Mario[Original] and Zelda [Original]. Trust me, as long as people keep playing it, which i will, it will be a game people will talk about for decades. It's a part of me, never forget Halo CE! Bungie's true creation [Halo 2 , i'm not too fussed if that is forgotten, good game but not a legacy in my opinion, too rushed]

I don't think so, i play halo CE all the time on XBC and -blam!-, i personaly would choose a halo CE lan party over a Halo 2 anyday, but all my friends are noobs and play halo 2 likes its goin out -blam!- style, except one my friends from down here, hes trying to find us a tourney down near Maine, so if any of you hear about one send me a message, for halo 1 or 2, hes really good and i need a new xbox lol so send me a message if you see a MLG 2v2 tourney down here.thanx
o yeah and halo 1 will never be forgottten i'm gunna keep my xbox in mint condition and just like take a long break from it, so it seems new again, then i'm gunna pull out my xbox and pop in halo 1 and just play it for hours like i'v never played it before, good idea huh?
