Uum do you remember the H2 BR?
Spawn weapons being close to equal with power weapons would be better IMO. That way you can fight back better, and help prevent spawn killing a bit. H2 never had problem of spawnkilling in the calibur it is on reach...


I find that the weapons should be weaker, but capable of creating an effective resistence to the power weapons.

Checkout my screenshots. I killed a guy with the Sniper rifle in a one on one using the AR (Halo 3). And he's good.

So yes, I'm all for that, but power weapons should still be power weapons.

Needs to be slightly stonger, yes.
Some sort of sighted automatic weapon (SMG ne1) would be good too, so maybe a scope on the AR?

That would be nice for bursting, yes :)

But no new weapons will be added, nor will a scope be attached to any weapons. It's just too much of a hassle and unlikely.

But to buff up the damage? They can do that no problem :)

Actually I played Halo:CE last week with a friend. I was surprised how you could easily kill 4 grunts with a single magazine (on heroic) where as you can just bareley kill 2 grunts in Reach (Also on heroic, since that's the difficulty firefight uses in MM I think)

Indeed, it's a balance not to overdo it. It's not all to often I actually use the AR in MM, it happens though. I wouldn't mind it being a bit stronger for FF though.

EDIT: Just realized, the AR in Halo:CE had 60 rounds, as opposed to the one in Reach.... duh..

Which, at it's core is the problem. You know the video where the guy tries to kill a guy using a spoon? The "Murder with the extremely inefficient weapon". That would kill 2 grunts faster than the ar

Remember Reach

Reach rocks!!!!!!! I love a good game of invasion and my GT is my username. I am also an aprentice master Forger, ihave recentl found a "Banshee" turret a friend made. I'm thinking of adding it to my Training arena as a flight simulator.

To be honest, I always felt it would be better if the Assault Rifle was actually morte a light machine gun, or that they add a light machine gun loudout.

The repeater needs a buff way more than the AR. Buffing the AR without buffing the repeater would be ridiculous.

No, the AR is supposed to be a weak/OK weapon. You spawn with weapons that encourage you to find others. We dont want people spawning with a power weapon. If you cant make due with the AR, find another weapon, there are wepons at every spawn zone. Also, try halopedia, they give tips on every weapon, vehicle, or map (and more!) on their site. Their tips saved me multiple times in H3.

A Magnum is then too OP, wouldn't you say?

No. You're supposed to get a good versatile weapon that gives you a chance to get to the other weapons, or choose to keep it if you want.

At the moment it isn't OK. It's damn near unusable against a player with a Magnum, and not to even mention other weapons.

It seems fishy to me that the unsc has cryro chambers and space planes a scope on my pistol and dmr but they didnt have enough money to put a scope on the standard issue ar. Halo 1 ar ftw.

The MA5B (Halo: CE AR) didn't have a scope if you were implying that, but I don't think you were.

The Halo CE AR was very good, but is far too OP for MM.

Halo 3's AR was perfect. Now it is even more accurate-thus rewarding skill, and the RoF (Rate of Fire) is slower.

However the damage per round is excrutiatingly weak. It needs a slight buff, if burst firing- or using the AR at all for that matter- is to be effective.

It was a very well-rounded weapon with a balanced, 12 round magazine.

Then some idiots online started screaming about how they couldn't get a triple-kill easily enough with the 12 rounds, and demanded 15. Bungie gave in to their yelling, and now the DMR is a little OP.

I don't wanna have the same thing with the AR. Besides, I already fire in bursts, and I dominate the noobs who hold down the trigger at medium range.

Best solution to the perceived 'problem' here is to just switch to your pistol to finish off that second bad guy after you've depleted your AR completely.

I don't care about killing more than one guy using nothing but the AR.

However, it needs to be more effective in one on one battles, when the other player isn't using the AR.

It's easy to beat another AR user if you know what your doing with your AR, and even easyer if you are using another weapon.

So the point is- increasing the AR's effectivness- outside of an AR to AR duel.

I don't think that would work in Match Making. It would be like a far too OP SMG - lowest accuracy, amazing RoF and 15 rounds to kill, using a 60 round magasine. Wow there..

16 rounds to kill. It's the perfect ballance. That would make the AR the ultimate starting weapon. I repeat: Not to overpowered, and not too underpowered. A normal weapon that skilled players could excell at using in it's intended range.

Too late to add that, and more dificult than you imagine.

I also find it unnecessary. A damage buff, however, I would find imperative! And it's easy to implement.

I know I might sound like a noob but the AR was my favorite weapon. It would actually win a fight against a BR if you knew how to use it. Now it is so weak it is like you start with nothing but a gun to deplete shields for the rest of your team to headshot them. They might as well take it out and just give you a DMR because you cant do jack without it.

I would love for them to make it stronger, I would also love to see the huge clip size in CE but I doubt that while happen.
