I absolutely agree man, somehow I felt that it was mroe powerful in the Beta and I loved it there. Now I want to love it but I can't due to it failing on me in most situations. So I just pull out my magnum and use the AR as a "backup" :(

The most skilled way of fixing the AR (And, yes it is in need of fixing) is to increase the damage per round.

Well thats kind of odd, since the AR in the beta actually took a few more rounds to kill than the one we have now.

And the one we have now still takes more rounds to kill than the ARs from previous Halo games.

We did, but the ARs theoretical (perfect) kill time is too slow.

Bursting= pacing for AR. It needs more damage.

Easier said then done. If you're in an AR battle, the person who holds down the trigger come out top, not the guy pacing. Its always been that way and always will be.

Reach AR- slow RoF.

Reach AR slightly better accuracy

Reach AR, many more shots to kill.

Reach AR, same magasine as H3.

It is the worst by far taking 20 rounds to kill.
Halo 3's takes 16.

CEs takes 15.

Well depending on the range.

In an AR duel, I tend to burst fire from mid-range, hitting most of my shots and saving ammo, and then going full-auto when we are close. That's usuallly enough.

But if he is a skilled player using a weapon other than the AR, I have a problem.

The AR needs more damage in order to be a viable weapon choice in comparison to any other weapon.

I do agree with your posts, and todays challenge for the Automatic weapon kinda proves even more we need to have it tweaked just a tiny bit. Usually people are going around and using the pistol and AR as backup. Seen that most of the day and also that is what I do.

Point being, it has no place in the sandbox. It might as well not be here.

I'd prefer that it gets it's damage increased to 16 rounds to kill, as that would reward burst firing, and make it a viable weapon choice :)

The AR is more powerful than the magnum. If anything the AR should stay how it is and the Magnum should be buffed to become how it was in the Beta.

If you can aim, the Magnum is an nearly OP beast.

It's small magasine size is the problem.

The AR is actually nearly unusable, that's how weak it is.

Bring back the H1 AR. That was strong but it was verry inaccurate which is what made it balanced. It would make people use it again, plus it sounded beast and made you feel like you were god when it shot as it had lots of vibration whereas the H3/HR AR sounds like a -blam!- gun. Reach AR sounds better but still a bit -blam!-.

The Reach AR looks and sounds awsome to me.

But I don't think the CE AR would work in MM. It would be an OP SMG.

The Halo 3 AR did it right, except now we don't have the AR rush problem, and the RoF is slower. The damage however is unacceptable and needs to be increased.

Trust me, it's alot harder to burst fire than use the magnum to get a simple headshot.

A noob weapon is the Rocket launcher- 4 guaranteed kills.

16 rounds to kill will make it usefull. It will still be weaker than the DMR. But will become a viable choice.

Explain how it is worthless?

A common weapon in the game, obviously has problems as it is useless and doesen't belong in the sandbox at the moment.

I have given a summary of the issues with the weapon, and an intelligent way to fix the situation.
