Good news!, did you read today's update? It revealed details for a Classic playlist and I noticed a 110% to Damage Modifier, which would make the MA37 Assault Rifle only needing 16 rounds for a kill.

Good news!, did you read today's update? It revealed details for a Classic playlist and I notcied a 110% to Damage Modifier, which would make the MA37 Assault Rifle only needing 16 rounds for a kill.


Great news :) Yes, I did see. I can't wait to try that playlist out :)

These are the updated settings for the Classic Playlist.

Based on our latest playtesting, the current settings we're considering are:

Player Speed 120%
Jump Height 125%
Player Gravity 150%
Damage Modifier 110%
Melee Modifier 75%
Damage Resistance 100%
Shield Recharge Rate 110%
Health Recharge Rate 110%

As I said before these are subject to change, we have final playtesting to do next week.


Feel free to try these setting out with a friend in a custom game.

Also check out Classic Playlist to see future updates to the current settings.

Same here. I can't wait to burst fire my assault rifle knowing that I can kill a fully shielded spartan with 16 rounds which can earn me 2 kills per clip if Im spot on with my accuracy.

The other weapons get effected by the damage boost as well, AR is still going to be dominated by headshot capable weapons.

If you didn't know, it takes 16 shots in the classic playlist to kill someone with the AR.

can you people stop complaining the AR is fine it rewards the better players with the kill without noobs using glitches and stuff to get a kill with out even being anygood. and even if you suck the AR still gives you an oppertunity to earn a kill

When playing 2x Firefight its awesome using the AR, turns into a power weapon capable of dropping 3 or more Elites in a magazine (with a bit of burst control) also a greatly improved range.

I know this would be no good for multiplayer but any improvement to the AR is welcome. For me it is the gun that makes Halo.

DMR and the Magnum will take 5 shots to kill, same as always. (Because of the shield mechanic in Halo: Reach).

This makes it ballanced (I hope).

Dude, you're encased in a ton of shielded metal. Of course a collection of crude metal pellets will not penetrate your walking tank of a suit.
