Halo RTS based idea....

What i have seen, what i have been shown, is beautiful! What i seen was a new version of our current Halo for the PC. But this one was not 1st person view and forced to a control pad, no this is something different and more...intresting. What i have seen is an RTS PC format of Halo, for example, have you heard of Dawn of War 40,000 and played it? Its one of the best games of its time and is only a year old maybe more, however my point beign what if Halo was the base engine and idea of an RTS type game for the PC? wouldnt it be brilliant to train a bunch of cowardly citizens into tough as nails Marines then send them off in vehicles to fight the Covenant!? and see bloody battles and open warfare?

What if you could control all of that? what if you could lay the path that your followeres walk on? What if you coukd play as the Covenant (alien), Flood (mutant), Sentinels (machines) or Marine (humans)?

Im not sure what other people would think of this but i think that if such a game was to be brought out then Bungee would shoot even further into the sky and beyond that to glory! Not that they havnt already, i admit that i didnt know Bungee much, i played their first game Oni, which was brilliant, but Bungee was not known to me then till i played Halo and dropped my jaw in amazement, but then i realised that im going more for the PC format games nowadays, Halo games indeed are for the PC but RTS based games have always been at my heart, and action in my Soul, so i say lets make a Halo, but this time RTS based for the PC.

What would it be? This is only some of my ideas! You would control 1 of 4 races out of the Halo story, Flood, Marines, Covenant or Sentinel, they would all have their unique and style of play, their way of combat and survival, they all work on a Tech Tree. This is RTS based and would involve collecting and managing resoruces, constructing buildings, training troops and breeding, reasearching tecnoligies and finally using it all to beat down your foes wherever they challenge you! You would be able to create your unique units (your fighting organic folowers, as in soldiers or whatever) and vehicles could be built, as well as buildings. The 4 races would all have disadvantages, the Humans would be somewhat weak and frail, the solders (marines) they can be trained to would be alot tougher, however the Master Cheif would be more than enouth to counter this and help them to victory. Covenant would be both strong and tech builded, but they would be weak and vunerable without it, they are a tough race but would have sme draw-backs, as they would require more requi and power for their training, vehicles and buildings. Flood would be strong, however they lack integrity and tend to fall apart if the right weapons succombs them to it, but they make up for this with sheer numbers and strength, they would also be able to create vehicles, but nothing like the other 3 Races. Last but not least the Sentinels, they are machines and both tough, strong and defencive, but they tend to....stall sometimes, as their mechanical bodys may defer at times and their abilitys cause their early shut down, their vehicles would be tougher even more so. They all would have a decent array of researchs, vehicles and buildings at your disposal, all according to their race and style ofm combat.

Their is a suprise however, as all this would be on "planets" but thats not where it ends, combat and construction also takes place in space!!!! and on space ships! I aonly thought of this because it was in the Halo game! and people want space combat in Halo to happen!
How it would work is in this game you would start of in space with your race and a planet your currently control with your army (race), that planet is your "home" planet, wou would also have Home Base Space Station (HBSS) in orbit around your Home Planet always that would take care of constructing and military needs in space. I have never seen this done in many games, constructing in space, fighting in space then further on planets, i think this would be incredible, i know i would enjoy it! Your home Planet would be yours and yours only when your first start of, with your HBSS in orbit, your HBSS would be capable of building construction designed space ships that would be able to construct buildings designed only for existing in space, these buildings would support your races "lives" until they go of to fight the war for you, which you your self would make so. these space Buildings would be able to build your space ships (for combat and other needs) and life support for your units (follower, human, alien, mutant or machine) until they train to become soldiers, which would have ranks that are determined by the number of kills they have made, so,diers would increase in rank from Private to War Legend etc. Your space ships would also be built, which do your space combat, some being much stronger than others, they would also have their own stats and ranks, depending on the battles they have been in and survived without beign destroyed. yes, these space ships would have units (followers) living on them (day by day lives), they would be ordinary civilians until traine dto be soldiers, which would be done by selecting the ship from the space map view and selecting train from the menu that would appear by clicking the same space ship again, other options would be on this menu with "Train Units" that all would lead to smaller more important menus where you would manage each space ship individually. Whats that you ask? How do you get your units to the surface of planets!? Your Space Ships would carry drop ships (designed now for space travel but only from planet orbit to the surface and back), these drop ships would carry (inside) your units (followers) from your Space Ship to the selected Planet, where it would return to the Space Ship and your units begin action on the Planets Surface. Your Space Ships in space would also carry supplies (weapons, food, equipment and such). yes thats right your units (followers) would eat, sleep, drink, and do many other "social" activities with their lives, even when they are soldiers they would so so as they wouldnt always be in uniform, this would all be done automaticly wherever you would be. They would also eat and sleep etc on planets and on Space ships/buildings which you could also observe! You can also place objects inside Space buildings/ships like you would build buildings, structures and objects on planet Surfaces....dont worry though, you wouldnt have to keep placing objects on space ships/buildings all the time when they are newly created as their would be a default template for every type of ship and building, this also counts for the structures built ont he surfaces of Planets, as units can go inside them to survive. You would also be able to go isndie and view the inside of space ships/buildings as you would on planet surfaces, this take places from a "bird's eye view" where you can manage your army from any place, you would litrally be able to see a human walking along the corridor of a space ship's deck if you wanted to! and many events would happen here, such as combat, as on your Space ships you would carry Drop-ship-dockers, which are designed to atatch to the hull of an enemy space ship and cut through so units inside can infiltrate, meaning combat inside Space ships in space! which means you would be their to fight and guide your noble followers through till the end! When not in comabt they woudl be seen eating, sleeping (sometimes units not on their own but with someone? As this game would be sort of like Sims and your units would axtually "live" their Lives on Ships, inside Buildings in Space and on Planet Surfaces, they would be able to talk and interact with other units, wherever they may be! muwhahaaha! But they would not age or anything like that so thats not something to worry about, they would be seen eating in cafeterias, sleeping in the beds of quarters, walking down the halls of their home, until a squad of enemy soldiers show up outside the door and butcher them in their sleep if not ready, then all hell breaks loose with a bloody battle! A space ship can be lossed if an enemy drop-ship-docker manages to dock on your ship and reach the bridge where all the controls over the ship are and reach a panel that manages and controls the space ship itself, these counts also for space Buildings! remember this can be done or the Ship itself be destroyed by an enemy Space Ship, everything int his game would be destroyable or interacted with somehow! But you could also make this happen for your enemy! As when in space Combat mode you could left mouse click your ship to select it then right click for a load of options for combat, where as one is to "Attempt - Board nemy Ship - DSD" (DSD meaning drop-ship-docker) then you would select an enemy ship to board, after a few seconds yur drop-ship-dcoker would be seen leaveing your ship with units inside to dock on the enemy ships hull and infiltrate. So how does all this happen if your in Space Combat and theirs loads of on space ship combat to at the same time and place of combat? well thats for advantages and luck to decide, the better and stronger win i guess, if your units are better outfitted and equipped, more trained and more experienced, then they would have a higher chance of taking the enemy space ship from inside! You could also take control by click the enemy ship and selecting "Inside Ship View".

On Planet Surfaces you would also see your units live out their lives, and their would always be only 1 type of unit of that particular race (the covenant are many races, but now as 1, so defer from the rest). They would with the "Construction Suit" the brung with them on the Drop-Ship the came in, you would left click a unit then right click a object to interact, unit would then mount/unmount ther Suit and you could construct using him/her.
