I would love to see a re-release of Halo 2 (And Live Enabled Halo 1 while we're at it) but I think they would change too much stuff. Personally, I loved the button glitches like BxR and BxB. I used the double shot (rrx) alot too, but by summer 2007 that one got probably got out of hand especially when a lot of players could quad-shot it. The others weren't extremely difficult to learn and they were very reliable. Any player could do them (assuming they knew them and practiced them) not just the host of the game. I played MLG in 05-07 for halo 2 so I have bias towards the glitches but what do you guys think?

Anything that increases the skill cap in a game should be included, people against button glitches are just too bad to appreciate them

Guy above said it well. And it's true, using button glitches PROPERLY takes a lot of skill and makes the game far more competitive. (competition is good, some wusses, like the bungie staff, would rather laugh 24/7 and exchange internet humour and jokes)

Halo 2 for Life!

Keep everything the same and allow "old" xbox games to be playible on the "new" Xbox Live.

I can't see the harm in it, but if people don't want them removed, don't remove them :D

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

It's not easy for that to happen. The reason they couldn't title update h2x, was due to the fact that Xbox Live is coded into the game, same with the drivers. A basic title update couldn't make it use the new live. The whole game would need to be ported to the new live. And MS denied any remakes.

When I originally posted this topic I was all for keeping every glitch in the game. BUT after playing on XBC for the past few days I may be changing my tune. I'm not really sure if its just XBC Host and sub-par connections but about 85% of the players I've played with double shot consistently and about 50% quad shot every battle.
I mean if a player is weak and they use a double shot to try and save themselves (Think 2006 MLG Season) thats fine with me, but being full shields and getting killed before you can shoot twice (killed by one player mind you) is ridiculous. In Halo 2's pre-halo 3 XBL days I would use a double shot a few times a game but its out of control now.

I'm not a fan of doubleshotters.

This is actually the stupidest thing ever posted on B.net:

Why does everyone hate Halo 2? Maybe its because its the worst game ever next to mario.

I second that. Sure, with practice and timing anybody could master the Double Shot. But it got out of control when those modded controllers hit Matchmaking.

Winning a BR Battle should be about having a good strafe and headshots, not how many extra bullets can fly out of the gun.

BxR and BxB I did not mind at all, it brought the up close game of Halo 2 to another level. But the world of Halo 2 would of been better without the Double Shot glitch.

Pioneer and Enthusiast for Halo 3.

I prefer the button glitches. Let's keep Halo 2 the exact same way we once found it.

imo, double shots are fine in moderation but the quad shot is awful.

I Retired Gears of War 2, Sold it to buy Halo 3. And I have not had this much fun playing Video Games in a long time :)
Now that Halo Reach is out. My life has never been better.
Thanks Bungie.

That will be awesome if halo 2 was re released for the xbox.

Hey BK, headhsotS? You only aim for the head when the shields are low. You aim for the torso 3 shots, then poke up for the 4shot.

Also. Yeah modded controllers are a pain, but if somebody has mastered quad-shotting, I can't complain. Mastering quad shot's (and double shots for that manner) is very difficult. Unfortunately there's no way to tell if the controller is modded or not :(.............. But if there was a way, then quad shot your little heart out because there's nothing sicker than getting shot at from behind then turning around and pulling off a perfect quad shot.

Did you just call Super PolarBear a "BK?"

Your thoughts and opinions no longer have any meaning here.

True that

Yes they made it very fun.

  • 11.21.2010 10:37 PM PDT

BxR was actually a bit difficult to pull off and BxB made close quarters combat more intense. Keep the glitches since it actually made the game more skilled, where as many games today are absent of requiring skill.

Wayne Jarvis, Attorney at Law; I have a responsibility to tell you that there is no candy in this office.

Keep button glitches

Remove certain superbounce holes from online multiplayer. For example, the Zanzibar roof was generally harmless but sitting two miles above Ascension and Lockout was just plain lame.

If halo 2 was ported quick, instead of being remade, it would probably be based off the PC port, since companies like to port the PC port since it's closer to the 360. That had bounces removed, but it still had button glitches.

The clue is in the name. Theyre GLITCHES. They were never meant to be there, it was an oversight by bungie. The multiplayer sandbox was not balanced for people being able to quadshot someone to death in 1/2 a second and tap someone else out instantly.

Bungie stated they are considered not to be part of the real game and use is frowned upon, and if there ever was a remake, all button glitches would be fixed. Infact they did fix, because they learned their lesson from H2 and they amde sure H3 has no button glitches. That should pretty much answer your question.

Halo 2 for Life!

They added depth, verity, and were something to do in customs (ect) for frequent users and experienced users.

I talk about them further in this thread:

I talk about BXB here as well (you have to press the plus sign to see it...):

Super PolarBear thinks it's a fist fight:
