There are a few of us at www.stefans-mods.com trying to make a new campaign for HALO. Not HALO CE cause it doesnt have a campaign. The Campaign will be called PROLOGUE and will run from when John was a kid until Reach is attacked by the Covenant. Of course the game will be very large unless we remove some stuff. We are working on writing the storyline now. We are looking for some help from anyone who knows AI coding, texturing, and has a talent for designing new weapons. This would be nice. The most I can mod is with offset swapping. A new story would be nice. Just be sure to get the levels looking like they are described in The Fall of Reach. Although, it would probably take a few months to do, and Halo 2 will most likely be released, it would still get me back into playing Halo PC again should I lose interest before then. As for distributing the files, well, there would be your problem. Halo PC maps are 1.10 GB (SP maps + bitmaps.map + sounds.map + ui.map). I would just suggest using BitTorrent to distribute. That way, you can just get one of the free web hosting services, and not worry about running out of bandwidth every hour.

We have a server with unlimited bandwidth and webspace lined up. And yes we will make the levels look like they described in the book. As for distributing it, we still haven't worked out how we are going to compress it, but we'll think of something.

How are you gonna get the thousands of Grunts in a field? The framerate might bog a bit...

We don't even know if we are going to include that part. We are following the story line but we can't include everything from the book in it. If we do include the grunts we'll probably optimize them so that the framerate won't be hurt t00 badly, or we could make it an illusion to make it look like there are thousands of Grunts but there are really only a few.

COUGH*FIRSTSTRIKE*COUGH* anybody remember that name? As soon as the HEK and Halo CE came, that mod went south. However, if your group had the skillz and time, hell, id give you money :)

I've never heard of the First Strike mod. And we do got the skillz, and the time (lots of it), and we will not be charging for it so you won't need to give us money.
