What did Bungie do in the THREE (note: edit) years between the two halo games? As far as my knowledge goes, they didn't make another game, just ported halo to pc. anything else?

Well. they were working on Halo 2 for most of it I believe. and the Halo PC port as you mentioned.

I think this was also the time they started Pheonix. But it was cancelled not far into production.

Not sure what else.

For five years? No game takes five years to make, especially a sequel. And ancient, what the hell was the point of flaming me? Seriously, i asked a question.

Where did I flame? Sure I answered your question and left a ammusing comment at the end. No Flame included. And unless you have made a game, you have no right to say how long one deos and does not take to make.

Its called vacation. And Bungie didn't start working on halo 2 untill E3 2003, they had 13 months to make it and ship.

EDIT: Achronos pointed out that they started making it in 2002, not 2003.

Wait. Let me get this straight. You mean to tell me that they didn't start working on it until after they already had a demo for it? Complete with the same Graphics engine and MJOLNIR armor?

Or was that a joke?

November 2001 - November 2004 doesn't make 5 years, unless this is the New Math or something and us old fogies just don't get it.

I can see your point with the flame, but it could have been left out just as easily. And I can say how long the average game takes to make, but I have never made one.

Remember, bungie did make a lot of mistakes before Halo 2 was released. For example, the graphics were too strong that the Xbox was inable to play it. That's only a small example though...

What would you do if you had three years to work on something extremely secret?

I remember in one of the Weekly Updates they said they went shopping at Costco for some snacks. Maybe they got lost for a couple of years and found their way out using rice, a spinning chair, and some Chex Mix.

I will. Halo_tru7th, you're wrong. We went on vacation, then started work on Halo 2 - in 2002. And yes, games usually take between two and five years to make, depending on whatever happens during production as well as funding.
