I've had this question in the back of my head for awhile now...If some crazy member asks a mod to ban them, would the mod have to oblige, not be allowed to, or would it be up to them? This is just a hypotetical question, BTW...

I think the mod would just ignore them.

Always do the opposite of what a Bungie.net member suggests. ;D

Ah I see...so the mods are born to disappoint?

I would imagine the mod would ignore them.

Also, if someone wanted to be banned, it wouldn't be difficult. They could just violate the rules. Much easier than asking to get banned.

Not cool.

You shouldn't just violate the rules because you want to get banned. If you want to get banned you should ask a moderator. They lock threads by request, so I'm not sure why they wouldn't blacklist.

Imagine you got an 'F' on your report card and you think that Bungie.net is one of the reasons you got a bad grade. It'd probably be smart to prevent yourself from coming here by sending a message to a Master Forum Ninja explaining how long you want to get banned, and if you want you can tell them why. It might work.

If Bungie.net was the only reason you got an F, well you deserved it. Just stop going here. It isn't that hard, and if it is then you need to stop.

Although I agree, I would rather not leave a bad mark on Bungie. I would want a clean name when I left. But if I were to get myself banned, I would go with political discussion. Least harmful, in my opinion.

And I think that they would, if they knew you. If a random person did it they would probably think they were getting set up or something of the sort.

Why would anyone want to be banned? Why not create a new account and never go back to the old one?

I think that banning people on request would cause more problems than it's worth.

"ZOMG Y U BAN HIM BNGIE HE DUN NUTHIN?"

And so on. If somebody were to be addicted to Bungie.net to the extent that their actual life suffers, I think blocking it themselves through their browser would be the best option. It'd just waste moderators' time.

If you get an 'F' on your report card, you should stop getting on the computer altogether, unless it's concerning school work.

So, say if I asked you right now, you couldn't ban me?

I verify this. I very politley asked Recon to blacklist me for about month back in May, so that I would be forced to revise for my university exams. Although he was very helpful, he said that he wouldn't blacklist anyone who had not done something wrong, as it would go down as a black mark on their record.

I am sure it depends on the manner if they ask. If it is polite "please ban me" I am sure that won't work. If it is crude like OMG n-blam!- moderators suck Bungie -blam!- for example . I am prety sure that request to be banned will work.

Note to all: He said a reason, not the breaking of a rule.

I find this question funny, as if it is like that for cheaters on XBL. "I'm a cheater ban me!", I'm not proud to say that the level of stupidity has sadly increased. What will this person who asks to be banned gain? Nothing, what will he lose? Probably a couple brain cells, but that shouldn't matter that much if he was asking to be banned before. This is completely and hypothetically speaking, pointless.

Back to the banning for a reason, it doesn't have to be good. They could ban you if you made fun of their avatar or if you just made them mad on the wrong day.

I'm lucky enough to have not been banned for doing something I am truly sorry for. Although, one of the moderators thinks I'm not I am. I try to joke about it with him, but that gets me nowhere, so why even try?
