I was considering getting "Halo: CE" for my Mac and I was wondering how well the map making tool is? Is it easy to use, or very difficult? What all can you do with it? Can you make terrain?

Grenades are like RAM, you can never have too much

halo: mac costs over a hundred dollars, its a collectors item, if you plan on using mac you will be better off to buy the pc copy and use a windows emulator such as wine

as for difficulty
its extremely complicated and involves alot of processes to churn out one map, but its easy, just takes time to learn and master(extensive tutorials are all over youtube)
you will also need a seperate 3d modeling program like 3dsmax

The first part is disappointing. I may be able to buy it online or at my "Best Buy," but from what you say it looks like I have only a slim chance.

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

The PC port is cheap, however. Just $20. And the map tools only work for Custom Edition, which is PC only.

Then again, paying $100 for a game is what you get when you buy a overpriced computer.

The bungie.net community is the halo PC community that is renowned for being unbelieveably sucky.

Bungie didn't develop the map making tools.

Its overpriced if you only use it for browsing the web, but macs are renowned for having the best audio and video authoring tools on the market, which would then not make it an overpriced machine at all (Even Marty O'Donnell has one :P). Sorry if I sound a little defensive, Im just tired of people bashing someone for buying a mac, without knowing what he does for a living, plus its our money to waste :).

Anyway, I would also recommend you to get the pc version, run it in bootcamp so your machine runs it natively.

1. Pretty much any mac program that isn't made by apple has a PC port. For example, adobe programs run on the PC as well as the mac. And there are some programs NOT avaliable on the mac, like Sony Vegas.

2. If you are in some weird situation where you HAVE to use mac programs, then you can just download osx86 and use Mac OS on any PC.

Another Apple Drone... :o

On topic: The map editor is very in-depth, but isn't too difficult to use, especially after a few days using it.

I heard Photoshop runs way faster on a Mac. My 64 bit copy isn't too bad on the PC but I bet the Mac 64 bit version...oh, I forgot, Apple killed it off.

Apple Drones.
They have more money to burn then Xbox Drones, and they also buy more apple products then just an iPod touch.
And their arguments are worse.

Yeah, both sides have bad arguements. Apple fanboys, however, treat apple products as if they are in some cult. And this is what happens when you never get laid because you are a apple fanboy. And that's just one fanboy, there are other fanboys who are pretty addicted. You know, the kids who put apple stickers on their cars and love their light up logos.

I haven't seen anyone throw around 74 xboxes.
