-blam!- the pay to play -blam!-. If that's what they are doing, and that's the reason they signed with Activision/Blizzard (which is likely in that scenario), Bungie has officially sold out to me. If it is an MMO, it better be like Guild Wars from a price standpoint. You know, I wouldn't be so quick to jump to that conclusion. I pay $15 a month for World of Warcraft because it's a quality game that I truly enjoy. You're only comparing this "new IP" to Guild Wars because you don't want a monthly subscription. Don't even mind the possibility of Bungie making an amazing new universe and game! Jason Jones (a man who doesn't like to be in the public eye and avoids it) even explained why they made a partnership with Activision.
Besides, the MMO thing has mainly been a circumstantial theory. The head of Activision was being an egotistical jerk in one interview and Joe Staten talked about a universe that would always be there when the player comes back. For all we know, it could be like Morrowind.
Bah, I'm getting off my soap box now. In short, OP, don't be so quick to freak out over the new IP [maybe] being an MMO. Enjoy Reach in the meantime.
No, if you want to spend 15 dollars a month for a single game because you enjoy it, I'll let you make your money decisions.
Also, please remember you can download WoW for free and then pay, Activision will probably want to sell this game for 60 dollars first.
