I just cannot get enough of Night of Long Solace level - The space combat is like 10 minutes of pure awesome!

I don't know about anybody else, If that was the concept of a standalone game, I would be playing it more than Reach.

There must be a way to get 343 to release something like this - With Longswords to just add more awesome.

Who agrees with me?

I am Field Master Avu Med 'Telcam, Servant of the Abiding Truth, and I have many brothers.

It's called Bungie Aerospace.

Erhm...

Star Fox?

I liked controlling the Sabre, it was a fun 10 minutes. I wouldn't buy a game with just that, though.

The only thing that let it down for me was it had up and down physics which space doesn't actually have, otherwise it was awesome.

I'd be interested to fly them in Matchmaking.

That would be most excellent - Seraphs vs. Sabres

Why not? it worked for the X-Wing series.
Personal preference, I suppose.

Just kinda frustrated with the lack of a decent space combat game on the xbox

It's not actually space combat, but Snoopy Flying Ace for XBLA is actually a really fun Star Fox style plane combat game.

Thousands of Hunters?
Millions of Scarabs?
Bring it on!

Sabre: YES
Longsword/Shortsword: WIN

BTW the Shortsword is a bomber variant of the LS if you didn't know.

Seraphs vs Sabres would have been damn awesome.

i liked it for what it was, another level in reach but other than that it wouldn't lure me in as a game, the physics are just too bad. the only space simulator game i have ever had high regards for is the awesome 'independance war' back in the late '90s for breaking the mould a bit, shame it barely sold! though im sure it would appeal to the masses that don't care about 'interesting' combat like that in i-war, shame that so many people like simplistic games! :-(

Go play star wars battle front two, bungie pretty much copied it piece for piece.

;-> No, they didn't - This level was actually fun to play - Battlefront's flight was just damn painful to play. Yes, it was that bad - played the Original Tie Fighter instead. ;->

Ace Combat 6 was a lot of fun for me. HAWX not so much. For real arcade goodness you could try Afterburner Climax on XBLA. It's pretty decent if a bit short.

Don't worry, you're still your mom's favorite Bnet member.

I recommend
a) space firefight and
b) Flood Firefight

Ace Combat6 and Afterburner, you say ;-> Thank you, I'll definitely try it out.

I also second the Space Firefight idea, that could work, couldn't it?

It's Hazard Time

Get Freelancer, pretty sure there is a Halo mod somewhere :)

Anyhow, I agree that it would be a great game, just needs more. More ships/weapons/manoeuvres/flyable space/enemies/stations and such, but it a pretty solid base.

Freelancer was a fantastic game from microsoft, along with Starlancer its predecessor. For me those were the two best space combat games I have played to date.

Save the Trees, Nuke the Whales.

Loved freelancer, shame they turned the global server off :(

They should do a dlc with sabre firefight or something, fighting waves of banshees, seraphs, phantoms and corvettes, then fight a cruiser or supercarrier :P

They could put some kind of hardpoints you need to shoot for the shield to fail so that a mac gun can finish it off.
