Sadly, it has been confirmed in Bungie's latest column documenting the last year of Halo. All I want Bungie to know is that by ignoring the Halo: CE fans, they are ignoring Half of the fan community. They probably think that we all hate Halo 2 and Halo 2 is "in" and halo: ce is Obsolete and "out". This is not true, I like Halo 2 just as much as I like Halo:CE. Theres stuff I like about both, and stuff I hate about both. Shame on you Bungie for ignoring the hardcore fanbase which would pay good money for either a Patch to make Halo:CE online via XBL or a Special edition of Halo:CE. As someone said earlyer, it would probably take over Halo 2 and thats why they dont want to release a Halo:CE on XBL.

Calm down child, so they didn't add XBL to Halo : CE ( which i would enjoy ethier way ) but its not the end of the world, just sit down, relax and be patient.

It's not as easy as a patch. Since the game came out before Xbox Live even existed, they would have to recode and rerelease the entire game.

Bungie does not want to become Rare. Nor do I want them to do so.

It will never happen. Not as many people want it to happen. Those who do are following the mob mentality and not really thinking about pros and cons.

You say that the Halo 1 fanbase is the "hardcore" fanbase but you also say its "half of the fan community". Both cant be true because the hardcore fan base is very small and might not generate enough revenue.

Checking XBC right now:

203 Total Hosts

Halo 2: 127 hosts
Halo CE: 35 hosts (literally half of them dont even have players right now)

Even though Halo 2 is XBL enabled with 78,138 players online it still dominates on XBC, making up the majority of hosts on it (of ANY game).

The only place anyone can play Halo CE online (for the xbox) is mainly XBC. If the fanbase was really that huge you would see far more hosts playing it since they cant go anywhere else. (I didnt include Halo PC because thats a different category since halo 2 is not on PC..and they wouldnt pay for Halo 1 on the xbox again anyway because they already have live play)

Dont get me wrong, I'm not bashing Halo 1 in any way...its a great game and the reason I started playing Halo 2. But you dont see the numbers. When people like Halo 1 more than 2, they either have bought it on the PC or play on XBC. I just dont believe it would cover the cost.

Sigh...why argue about who the fanbase is...the fact is that a lot of people really wish that Halo:CE was on XBL. I don't think the number of hosts on XBC for either game is an appropriate measure of the popularity of the respective games. But, it doesn't matter really. Either they do it eventually or not, it's up to them. I for one would buy a new copy of Halo:CE for xbl. Even an extremely overpriced version.

Just use XBC, even though it's not as organized, it's better for Bunige. It would kind of be a waste of time for Bungie doing that. And it would be harder, because they would have to change a lot. And it would mean time away from a new project that they might be working on. Not necessarily Halo 3, but whatever it is, it would take longer to finish. And XBC might not be as organized and user friendly as XBL, but it's free, and can play Halo. Also, you think Bugnie hates us? You are way out of your mind. You obviously know nothing about the coding of the game and stuff. Sinc eXBL didn't exsist, and that it was a launch game, it be a waste of money. If you are really one of the "hardcore" Halo fans, you would respect Bungie, and respect their desicions. Gettng mad at them for not releasing a game 4 years old, then you are obviously not a "harcore" fan. Please just use XBC, or just pay some money for PC, although their might not be much people playing it.

It may not be a perfect measure but it is a decent representation of the relative amount of users. It was only brought up because people say "everyone" would play and "half" the halo players play halo 1, etc.

Youre right, it all really doesnt matter because they already said its NOT going to happen. But when people start saying bungie is dumb or doesnt care then they are being retarded because they are so emotionally attached to the game they think the world feels the same.

Backwards compatability means that it is possible to play old games on newer systems. It does NOT mean that those games will be revamped or that new features will be added to them.

Bungie has said multiple times that it is not possible for them to change Halo to make it Xbox Live compatable. The success of Halo 2 on Xbox Live, the release of the Xbox 360, or all the whining, complaining, pleading, and petitioning in the world will not change that.
