By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

There is no Legendary Ending, period.

Some can come away from reading "War and Peace" thinking it a simple adventure story, while others can read the ingredients on a gum wrapper and unlock the secrets of the universe.

Inside another dead body. It's the last place they'll look
A corpse within a corpse.
CORPSEPTION.
Win.

Here comes the cryptic theory, more or less lifted from memory from the thread in the Reach forum.

Bungie's tagline for much of the Reach advertising media was 'remember where it all began'.
Most, myself included, felt that this meant 'remember where CE began' - on the bridge of a ship, Reach a planet in passing conversation, that had been fled for reasons as yet unknown (unless you read the book, ofc).

Some now think that it means remember where Bungie began, and are harking back to Marathon for the clues.

Marathon featured BoBs, a theoretical 'Mythic' difficulty, hidden switches and (IIRC) hidden radio messages. Finish them all, unlock a special ending.
The current theory for Reach's hidden Legendary ending is: Kill all the BoBs, find all the Data Pads, Complete the game Mythic (SLASO), and hit all the hidden switches.

If it has to be done in one playthrough, Mythic is just LASO, not SLASO, since some of the switches require multiple players.
