Two words:
Theatrical. Conclusion.

Took the words straight out of my mouth.
I think it's obvious by now that bungie didn't really care about the storyline of reach, and had a connon fodder approach to continuity. They seem to have a really bad track record for continuity

you still have to admit its pretty epic how emile, with a sword through him, the life draining out of him, is still able to completely pwn the elite, am i right?

Even if Emile had lived, saying he made it harder on humanity is a bit of an exaggeration. Reach was already in the process of being destroyed.

More than likely, he would have only lived to die another day.

Did anyone actually see how slow the gun turns and how fast the phantom was? The angle he was at when it was going towards him made it impossible to kill it. The first elite had an advantage with the phantom blocking his radar. The second elite ran really fast and got emile before he could turn around. He was still getting out of the gun to fight when the second elite was behind him. Even if he turned around he would have died.

CoD is a good game, even if the Halo series are better in some aspects. Anyone who insults either is just bad in that game. Grow up.

Read my previous posts, and re-watch the cutscene. It did not happen as you described it, at least not after the part about gun may not be able to shoot it down.
In any case...there are so many thing wrong with that cutscene, not just with Emile...NONE of the pelican pilots warned anyone of the incoming phantoms. The pelican that survived did not try to shoot down the phantom before it gets to Emile, nor after it starts to leave. The phantom also started shooting at Noble 6 instead of at the second Pelican, which poses as a much bigger threat. WTF was Bungie thinking?

I apologize in advance for all the crappy jokes I make.

I didn't like it either, his death (in the excact moment Keyes' pelican arrives) was just too convenient.

I love the entire Halo series, Halo 2 being my favorite of the games. I think that the universe is compelling and the story is deep, sweeping, and powerful. The hidden layers in the Halo trilogy and rich details of the backstory in the novels are something I love to be lost in, and im greatly looking forward to the story that Halo: Reach will weave. Bungie has carefully and lovingly crafted a mythic tale that will stay etched in my mind until the end.

The Covenant Cruiser is a more important target, and as mentioned before, the gun was aimed at it.

You and everyone else on these forums are just too dense and ignorant. N6 gets in the gun and takes out like six phantoms with seconds, then still has time to aim at the cruiser. Why couldnt Emile shoot down just one?

shoot down a ship hovering right over you.
see what happens.
If you're playing Reach, it explodes into bright pink gas and you get 1250 points.

I think it might be best just to assume that Emile was throughly incompetent and never should have been selected as a candidate. Plus, he uses a shotgun all the time, especially so since the shotgun has been nerfed since the first game.
