"A life lived for others is the only life worth living" - Albert Einstein

"I have your RCON right here." - Iggwilv

"Always my pleasure to be lazy." - InvasionImminent

Halo CE: Silent Cartographer/Halo (Tie)

Halo 2: Outskirts/Metropolis (I consider them one level)

Halo 3: Honestly, I played it once all the way through and can't remember any of the single player maps at all

Halo Reach: None of the levels really... stood out to me. They were all great, but personally, I hated the one where you had to fly around in the Falcon.

Some can come away from reading "War and Peace" thinking it a simple adventure story, while others can read the ingredients on a gum wrapper and unlock the secrets of the universe.

Halo CE: Two Betrayals (Fighting both Covenant and Flood gameplay is awesome. The Starting cutscene create many questions which have yet to be answered in Halo lore)

Halo 2: Heritic (Playing as the Arbiter with a Covenant Spec Ops team was BA)

Halo 3: The Covenant (Cutscene was BA)

Halo ODST: Bucks mission through the park, cause of the Warthog action.

Halo Reach: Tip of The Spear (Total badassery)

I'm LITERALLY better than Tim Tebow

Better than Tebow.

San Francisco 49ers
XVI - XIX - XXIII - XXIV - XXIX

Halo CE: The Library - first Halo level I ever played + the atmosphere of that level was awesome.

Halo 2: Delta Halo - Just a fun level. Tanks + Warthogs + ODSTs will always make for a great time.

Halo 3: The Covenant - Just a fun level. Tanks + Warthogs + Hornets + Scarabs + ODSTs will always make for a great time.

Halo ODST: Don't remember the levels well enough

Halo Reach: Long Night of Solace - Those crazy flying machines were a blast to pilot.

Soon to be breaking news:

US Coast Guard prepares for massive rescue mission after Iranian fleet sinks off shore. Reports say a small thunderstorm caused most of the ships to simply...fall apart.

Halo CE: Truth and Reconciliation, I like sniping and I loved fighting inside a Cruiser. I also like AotCR because of the vehicular combat.

Halo 2: Gravemind - Fighting Elites and Brutes, watching the civil war.

Halo 3: The Covenant - Vehicular combat, huge battles

ODST: NMPD HQ - Sniping, the part at the end

Wars: Outskirts. I loved controlling the extra Spartans.

Reach: ...

EXTREME PREJUDICE

CE - It's hard to pick just one (or a few) levels; they were all so incredible. Silent Cartographer, The Library and Keyes are my faves. Each of the missions shines in its own way.

Halo 2 - The Arbiter missions were the missions that stood out the most to me. When the game released, there were ALOT of people who despised it. We were taught to hate the Covenant in CE and it was quite the suprise to see the opposite end of the sprectrum. The Arbiter, Quarantine Zone/Sacred Icon and even Uprising were great. Fighting alongside a team of Spec Ops was simply badass, clashing with wave after wave of Flood and Sentinels was cool, and the strong emotional feel throughout Uprising/Great Journey was heartfelt. I just wanted to slaughter the Brutes for murdering our Elite brothers and take revenge on the Prophets. Personally, the MC levels were the weakest of the bunch but I do like the High Charity levels; very eery and lots of mayhem.

Halo 3 - I didn't really care for Halo 3 as a whole; I feel like it was dumbed down for some reason. My favorite mission would have to be The Ark or The Covenant. I like the cutscenes more than the missions.

ODST - Coastal Highway. Seeing the Covy invasion fleet arriving in full force was awesome.

Reach - I'm sure alot of people feel like Reach's campaign could have been a whole lot more. It definitely isn't what I expected it to be. My favorite mission is Long Night of Solace, but once again I think I enjoyed the cutscenes more.

<3 Auntie Dot

Halo CE: Either The Pillar of Autumn or The Maw.
Halo 2: High Charity.
halo 3: The Covenant.
Halo ODST: Coastal Highway.
Halo Reach : Either Tip of The Spear, ONI, or The Pillar of Autumn.

Halo CE: Assault on the Control Room was just so epic

Halo 2: Gravemind, since it featured Blow Me Away. Love that song.

Halo 3: The Ark/The Covenant were both great. Awesome cutscenes too.

ODST: Skyline finished off with an awesome fight, and an awesomer cutscene.

Reach: Lone wolf. Way to go out in style.

Halo: Combat Evolved:
It's impossible for me to choose. HCE has the most complete and cohesive narrative in the series, and each one of those levels contributes something necessary to the whole. They are linked together with near-perfection.

Halo 2:
Outskirts, I think. During much of the campaign, the game was trying to do things that its mechanics weren't really well-suited for. But, despite my hatred towards the jackal sniper count, most of Outskirts really does work. Not that its the only place, but it works more consistantly than most of the game does.

Halo 3:
I think The Ark. It's the section of Halo 3 that both runs primarily on its own merits and works really, really well. I like Halo, and the style of it is striking, but whenever I actually play it it seems somewhat lackluster, like Bungie almost had something but let it partially slip away.

Halo 3: ODST:
Hard to choose. Like HCE, it's hard to imagine this game working without the levels working together. But I'd have to say the city streets, because it's what really holds the game together.

Halo: Reach:
If I had to say, I'd probably say PoA.

stoopidmunke

Halo CE: either Halo, 'cause that level sort of defined the game for me (I mean it was on the cover art) or silent cartographer, cause of the beach landing.

Halo 2:Outskirts/metropolis, loved fighting on earth with the marines and driving back the covenant.

Halo 3: Maybe crows nest 'cause of all the human weapons and ammo.

Reach: I like winter contingency, the first level but it's really good, like how you discover the covenant threat and get ambushed by zealots.

I'm an Anarchist. I don't need a government to be a good person, but I'm glad it's here because some of you clearly do.

The most memorable level to me was roaming around New Mombasa in ODST just killing random encounters with Covenant. Hunting for audio files will always be remembered as being a lot of fun.

They achieved interstellar flight and left Earth. The intelligent ones left after killing all of the stupid dinosaurs.

Halo 1 - The Library
Halo 2 - Great Journey
Halo 3 - The Covenant
ODST - Tayari Plaza
Reach - Winter Contingency

I hate having to drive the Warthog

  • 11.21.2010 2:08 AM PDT

Halo 1 - The Maw. That level had an awesome setting and there was more soundtrack in that level which is always good.

Halo 2 - Quarentine Zone. Atmosphere and length of that level was one of the best in the game.

Halo 3 - The Covenant. Plot developements and variation of play style throughout was awesome sauce.

ODST - The drop sequence. Not really sure why I picked that but the whole drop was my favourite bit, so different, so well done.

Reach - The Pillar of Autumn. Because it was just a friendly reminder of Halo 1.

I've realised that I've been expelled from my mother's uterus as if being shot from a canon, towards a barn door covered in rusty hooks and old nail files. It's a matter of how you use the intervening time in an intelligent and ironic way, and try not to do anything dastardly to your fellow creatures.

Halo CE: silent cartographer or assault on the control room.

Halo 2: Gravemind

Halo 3: Easily the Covenant

ODST: NMPD HQ

Reach: long night of solace

Halo CE: Don't remember any level, played it a little at my friend's place when I was 8 or 9

Halo 2: Don't remember all the levels here neither, but maybe the one where you're on High Charity.

Halo 3: The Storm, The Ark and The Covenant. Many good memories here!

ODST: Every single level is perfectly executed. The music boosts it all. I like the contrast between the dark and depressing city scenes when you're alone, and the hazy scenes the day before.

Reach: Maybe Exodus or PoA, not quite sure. I loved the campaign as a whole, but none of the levels are put to their full potential, I mean they all just feel like some squad firefights and activating switches. But the return of the Elites, bigger and badder than ever did it for me.

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

Halo CE: The Truth and Reconciliation - such an epic level. Start on the ground in the dead of night with a Sniper, listen to some divine music (Under Cover of Night), infiltrate the T&R, rescue Keyes, nick a Spirit dropship and end the level on a high as Keyes rams into a group of Hunters.

Halo 2: Gravemind - this level gripped me on every level. The atmosphere, the music, Truth's broadcasts as you chase after him through the holy city and the final battle in the Mausoleum.

Halo 3: The Covenant - the end of Truth, the final defeat of the Covenant's leadership was bittersweet as we lose Miranda... Oh wait, that made the level even better! Silly woman.

ODST: Tayari Plaza - gotta love Buck and Dare in this level. Their banter was pretty funny but had a bit of meaning to it, I loved the mist in the area too and seeing the dead Sangheili.

Reach: Long Night of Solace - a classic Halo mission but innovative with the successful implementation of space combat. My jaw was on the floor at the end of the mission too.

Halo CE - 343 Guilty Spark

Choose your own destiny

FanFicFactor
Forged in the Flames of Passion, go forth and represent!

CE: Two Betrayals, AotCR, The Maw

2: Almost all of them, but probably Metropolis, Gravemind and Regret are my favorites.

3: The Covenant

ODST: NMPD HQ

Reach: Tip of the Spear, POA

And now for the ones I hate:

CE: The Library

2: The Sacred Icon

3: Cortana

ODST: Tayari Plaza

Reach: Exodus. -blam!- Brutes!

Signatures are for squares.

Halo CE: Truth and Reconciliation. - I just loved the Sniping scene, and the song "Under Cover of Night" just made that entire scene stick out so much. I tried my hardest every time to save as many marines as I could every time to try and have a stronger force when I invade the ship.

Halo 2: Outskirts. - I loved fighting the covenant on Earth. It felt great to kick Covenant ass on our home turf. I loved holding off at the start of the level. The sniper ally was great. Fighting through the allies of town was a fun experience, and hotel Zanzibar was just badass. The warthog run over the beach and through the tunnels was so fun.

Halo 3: The Covenant - Long level. Awesome cutscenes, so many different gameplay changes in the level. Fight on foot, on warthogs, with hornets, then a tank? Add in ODST's and Elite squads fighting with you and it doesn't get any better than that.

ODST: Mombasa streets. I can just wander those streets for hours and be completely happy. It's really fun to just explore.

Reach: Long Night of Solace. I LOVED the space mission. I only wish it could've been longer.
