lol sorry for the spam. I would forget to add something, so then i reposted. and yes it never occurred to me to just edit my posts. haha
The chipset is basically the card. When you say i have a 7800gtx, you are referring to both the chipset and the card. Technically the 7800GTX is actually the chipset, but people get lazy and don't say the manufacture.
For instance EVGA 7800GTX is a cards full name (the 7800GTX part is the chipset)
Basiaclly the number on any card is the chipset. 7800GT, 7800GTX, X1800XT, X850XTPro, X800XL, 6800GT, 6800 Ultra > they all the chipsets of a card.
