Subject: Need opinions on Halo 2 PC

Hello community,

I'm very much considering buying halo 2 PC, and I wanted opinions and insight from people who have played it or currently play it.

More specifically I'd like to know,

1.Does it have a descent following, (like maybe 5,000 people consistently online)
2. Are servers laggy? I know that Halo 1 Pc is so bad to play right now because all the servers are so riddled with lag.
3. Is it worth picking up for $20.

Give my your honest opinion on it

Halo 2 for xbox having been my favorite game of all-time I'm looking forward to experiencing it for the PC.

Thanks,
Snip3rJoe

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHA No. its about a total of 200 people on in a day, 30-50 at a time, most of them are -blam!- brazilians

um...i havent had too bad of a problem with halo pc lag, but i guess if you mean leading your shots and stuff, or the warthogs teleporting when you do a big jump, no halo 2 vista doesnt lag as much

Thats really your call
halo 2 vista is really buggy, has never been updated since release, and there is a large bug that alot of people get where they cant join a single server untill their client has been running for an hour
however, if you are a HUGE halo 2 xbox fan, you might enjoy it if you can get past the problems, but an xbox and xlink kai are probably your best bet.

1. Nope. About 200-300 people are on at peak, and most of them are playing Coag or SmG servers -____-

2. Depends. Some servers are better than others, but for the most part it's playable. Lots of no registers happen, though.

3. I bought it.

It depends on what your expectations are. Do you expect H2V to be an exact replica of H2X? If you do, you'll be disappointed - much less things register and you'd be better off getting XBC or Xlink set up.

Are you a competitive, MLG-tryhard all the time type of player? If so, prepare to be disappointed - 85% of the players on there are super casual and will only play shotties and swords, as well as Coag CTF. However, from time to time some people will get on to play a good ol' Lockout/Middy FFA and some team games.

However, if you just want to relive Halo 2 without the superbounces and have fun with banshees, warthogs and such, by all means, go ahead and purchase. I did.

BUNGIE AND MICROSOFT FAILS HALO 2 VISTA.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

You buy Halo 2 Vista.
Bungie and Microsoft do not give a blam! about that game, that is why they sabotaged the Halo 2 Editing Kit. loloololol.

Yeah. That's right. I don't have a 50 in H3. I never got Onyx in Reach. If a game sucks too much, I won't even bother trying for such trivial "accolades". Besides, I've done way more things that take far more skill and talent than anything that can be done in a video game.

You're in luck, OP. Everything you loved about Halo 2, from its half-assed campaign experience to its noobified multiplayer, has been painstakingly preserved in H2V.

The multiplayer in particular still has the BxR, oversized hitboxes, bullet magnetism, and aim assist if you use a controller, and the complete lack of adequate weapon balance that made Halo 2's multiplayer so great for those who could never play an FPS that requires any skill. Your favorite noob haven is still at your fingertips.

On top of that, the port brought about numerous additional bugs and a complete lack of an anti-cheat, as well as tacking on a craptastic service called Games for Windows Live. These additions are sure to brighten your day when you have to wait as much as 10 minutes before the lobby starts displaying games. Of course, make sure you have those server filters on, because you'll find 50 people at most online at any given time, as everyone else is away playing games that are actually good.

Definitely consider that purchase. You'll never find a game like H2V anywhere else. Where other games punish lesser skilled players ruthlessly, you'll find H2V is still that same experience that rewards slow reflexes, terrible aim, and mental retardation.

Recently picked up this game as well. Quite a nostalgia trip lol. I found it to be a great, not to mention fairly cheap-priced, purchase.

While the community is small, there are always a couple 12-16 player games happening and a couple more 2-8 ones. If I dont find a game I like I've had no problems starting my own games and inviting all the recent players Ive played with.

The lag and shoddy net coding of Halo 1 pc really put me off from getting it. I was happy to see this game runs much smoother (though a warning, while it runs great for me I have heard a bunch of people having problems with it).

An extra incentive is that you can play with the xbox 360 controller very smoothly. Some say you even get an advantage over keyboard/mouse. I've noticed this for driving vehicles mostly.

For $20 I really think it's more than worth it especially if you liked Halo 2 back on xbox.

The bungie.net community is the halo PC community that is renowned for being unbelieveably sucky.

: Wall of Text:

Since you already played it on the Xbox, it is NOT worth 20 bucks.

That is my honest opinion, I own both versions.

H2v is a horrible port, do not waste your time.

The community is extremely small for a good reason, the game is awful.

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

1. Only 50 people on at once.
2. It doesn't lag like CE does, but then again see 1.
3. Only of you are a hardcore h2x fanboy who hates xlink kai aseino lockout.

I'm by no means an elitist. I just don't like games that let bad players believe they're good.

I may not care for hardcore players, but I do agree with his points.

This game was not designed for modders, map authors and hardcore gamers.
