Before I was a mod, I used to get that all the time. I even bookmarked a thread where two idiots were flaming me for about two pages, but I can't get it out, seeing as though I'm on a different computer.

Dude... just deal with it. If people complain about you being a wanna-be mod, then they suck. Maybe it's better to provoke them so that we can sort the idiots from the rest.

PS. Maybe that sounds a bit harsh, but I did get it all the time.

I think I remember that.

I think people should have to spend a certain amount of time looking at the Rules, along with a FAQ, and the purpose of each different forum when they create an account.

It would encourage peope to read the rules, and it would discourage people from making alternate accounts. In theory, at least.

Well I'm thankful at least that you have to have a .NET passport to make an account. Think how bad it would be if you could just set up a name and password like most other sites.

I can think of a few people who do that. Any Flood-go'ers know who I'm talking about. But no names ;)

Meh, make it so you have to complete a quiz on the rules, just simple multiple choice questions like:

Someone has just insulted your mother, do you.

A) Say "-blam!- you you -blam!- -blam!- piece of -blam!-, my -blam!- is bigger than your -blam!- and i stuck it where the sun don't shine!!!!1111!!!eleven!!!!

or

B) Ignore them.

Because, forums that force you to read the rules every time, really, do you ever read them? I'll just scroll to the bottom and click "agree". But then that's me, a rule-abiding lurker.

A quiz would work. It would be quite handy actually.
