I agree. This is an amazing idea, and honestly you should get into the gaming world. You have some great ideas and they should be reserved for the best franchise the gaming world has ever known. I honestly think Reach was a success. But they need to bring a game like Halo 3 after reach. And make it a TRUE success. The hero they needed it to be. ;)

Keep up the good work man

Has life ever felt like a really bad sitcom?

Hunters don't have flood-forms. But don't forget volcanic wasteland for climates. And a gravity modifier would be nice too.

Very nice comment, thank you very much.

Hunters don't need a flood infection animation scheme, we can just have a hunter flood.
I can understand if you didn't read up and finish it, but I wonder how many people have.

No, I mean they literally don't have the forms, they cannot be infected, canonically speaking.

I understand they can't be infected, but if no infection animation scheme is required, I think they could just put out an infected hunter whether it's possible or not.

Or we could just put out a neutral hunter that attacks flood and human...

I guess the Hunters could since they cant be infected by the flood.
They cannot be infected into combat forms by the infection forms, but they can be infected by the Flood Spore. Of course, they would only be used for biomass, but still.

Because of their make-up of several hundred "eels" instead of being a single large organism, the Lekgolo are one of the only species in the Covenant that cannot be assimilated by the Flood, as their unique physiology does not allow the organism to access a central nervous system or control them to any capacity. As such, there has never been a Hunter Combat Form, though the flesh of the Lekgolo can most likely be used by the Flood simply for its biomass.

Can anyone explain how the flood uses things for biomass?
I could never understand this.

Subject: Halo's future~+~+~Halo 5: SCARABS, PHANTOMS IN FORGE

Posted by: Cowgoesmoo
-CONTINUED POST-
It's not even funny how many posts I have to make in here, TOO MUCH CONTENT AND IDEAS! -_-
Good job if you read to here.

Human Shield:
Human sheild. Although one of my favorite ideas, this is partially insanely fun and useless, but personally I like it. It is in reality not absolute, if space remains and people who have played the gamma+beta dislike of it it should be removed.
Much like in here, when assassinating a player after your knife goes into their shields, holding the button longer will get you a human shield.
Tap-Backsmack
Hold for a few jiffys-Assassination
Hold after knife+stab-Human Shield

You may keep your human shield that does not have shields for a maximum of fifteen~thirty seconds. After fifteen~thirty seconds they will break loose or either you will automatically kill them. Pressing meele before fifteen~thirty seconds will have you kill your victim with the butt of your gun.
Your victim will not have shields, thus holding meele after knife+stab, if an opponent kills your victim with a headshot it will NOT count as a betrayal, in fact the ONLY person who would receive anything at all is the person who is holding the enemy player hostage.

You will move the speed of the living dead.

Vheicle destruction process
This is definitely my top five ideas, I love this one.
When a vehicle is shot down, depending on vehicle, passengers will have the option of "bail" as I now call it, simply pressing "use" will have you climb out in a first person animation scheme, this is not required. But the point of "bail" is to not die from the exploding vheicle, this will solve problems with things like a transport falcon. Only passengers may achieve this, gunners and pilots have none of the option.

Things like a scorpion will not exactly have bail, but if a four passenger system is integrated, (Still in first person awesomeness mode) the player will simply cover themselves with perhaps a part of a tank, and be blinded for a moment before getting off the scorpion. This allows the integration of like things like transport falcons.
These ideas are only in integration for vehicles that would achieve perhaps an overkill or more.

Now for my favorite part. The transport falcon, would award an insanely large multikill for one vehicle, my concept is there are two passengers that may shoot out of the falcon, no turrets or anything. We will call them gunners. The side seats they will take are called "Gunner seats". The falcon might have a slightly larger bay, and allow for walking into the bay WHICH SHOULD BE ALLOWED IN THE FIRST PLACE-that allow people to get into specific seats, for example the middle one.

When shot down, the falcon will not simply explode and drop out of the sky immediately (I am only using a falcon as an example), the driver will be killed as well as the gunners, but the passengers, having nothing to focus on use the advantage to shield themselves from explosion. The falcon will kind of spin out of control to a certain degree, and just crash land.
Passengers getting out at any time before or after the crash the first person animation will be SIMILAR to this, SIMILAR, meaning to give a general concept. The first person animation would be like this. the passenger would hold on to something in a hugely dramatic crash ^_^.
Getting out? You would just still in first person, and bail out.
This is a crucial concept!
Take note of this!!

I would promote a first person driving scheme for most vehicles now, the ghost is a definite, as it has no passengers or anything you would need to care about.
It would look like this.
But, to counteract the chances of boarding and small field of visibility, things like motion trackers will be increased and better, as well as the overall power of vehicles as of Halo 3.
This first person system will only be integrated with largely overpowered vehicles as of Halo 3's records, although players may look around with the right thumbstick.
Leaving the right thumbstick idle will cause it to auto-center with the direction the player is driving at.
For example, tank beats wraith!
So leave wraith third person and tank for first person.
SAGE, DON'T NERF EVERYTHING!!!

When being the victim of an assassination, no third person scheme! You're not dead yet, and there is also the likley chance your opponent decides to use you as a meatshield, everything here until your actual death will be in first person, this also creates extra coolness.

Betrayal solution? Mine

Armory 2.0
A new option of the armory is assassination unlockables, these assassinations are rather the coolest of any, and when purchased, they can be toggled on and off.

FIREFIGHT
Halo: Reach's firefight was different from ODST's, I would prefer-actually, all of us- prefer firefight being more rewarding if you get to the power weapons.
In ODST crater, the first to get to the turret was inb4WIN.
The one skillful enough to get to the sniper or rockets was inb4WIN, and the maps were smaller, and again, more rewarding. That is quite an important element, in ODST firefight was played because it was extremely rewarding turret'ing grunts off the stairs on Crater or getting the rockets on data hive and grabbing huge killing sprees and a bunch of killionares. Take my word for that, we played firefight because it was rewarding to play. The idea of firefight is to create an area to defend, and to be again, rewarding. DO NOT OVERDO IT! RECREATE ODST'S FIREFIGHT, THAT'S ALL.

VHEICLE CONCEPTS

General vehicle concepts, these could be integrated if Bungie has some sort of idea close to it or needs ideas.http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=54259786&p ostRepeater1-p=1#54281820

FLOODFIGHT
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9DgMUOE5N8#t=1m36s(Recovering lost link... dammit)
Now, what is that? Interesting... It seems Bungie beat me to the floodfight idea.
If needed, there are flood ideas right here.

I'M DONE WITH GENERAL UPDATING!!!!!
Oh crap, I still have invasion ideas...
Damn!!!

Invasion
-Should give invasion more objective to it, stealing the core is just another objective, invasion should be of higher priority.
Two new Invasion 2.0 ideas.

SPARTAN INV-
Objective to destroy a covenant supercarrier.
Players are dropped off on a pelican for initial spawning, but at a distance or position where no way could an enemy player could manage to see, attack, or get there in time to kill the Spartan players shortly after exiting the pelican.
When in the pelican, Johnson will be explaining things (These are at selected at random, and if disc space is pushed again the variation in his speech is probably the first thing to consider removing). "That my friends, is a Covenant Supercarrier. A crew of thirten million, and over ONE MILLION seraphs!" Proceeds to discuss the objective.

Stages (These are variable, ideas here are just thrown out there to get started with)
-SMAC Shielding. The elites have put up a shield, around the SMAC's controls as well as the SMAC itself. Spartan players will need to power down the shielding via covenant external control panels.
-Control Room. Elites have lockdown on a control room, must re-activate power.
-Process/Decode coordinates and unscramble.
Spartan players will need to unscramble the covenant lockdown code on the SMAC controls and process the coordinates.
End: The SMAC destroys the supercarrier.
If you lose, the supercarrier begins to glass everything, or we get a mapful of kamakazie banshees.

ELITE INV- Objective to fire halo/ retrieve the index. Elite players are dropped off in phantoms, the elite arbiters in the phantoms will discuss the objective. You can see the phantoms going out of the map to drop off grunts and attack other places if you get bored and watch.
-Destroy spartan defenses, human turrets disable access to places, players must avoid the turret's range itself(Indoors and obvious) but destroy the controls.
-An oracle will descend from a waiting phantom once enough teammates have spawned near the location it will begin decoding the door. If it receives too much damage it will teleport away, players must clear a marked zone of enemies for the oracle to resume hacking. In the end, cue the Marty and Salvatori's music, the elites need to go grab the index and bring it to the phantom. Stand under the phantom to be gravity lifted upwards, the player will be invulnerable when being lifted and will get stronger as they get near the lift, this is to keep people from flinging their controllers at their black and white TV, but damage rate will decrease to keep the fairness. Like an inverse VIP.
END: Either the firing of Halo occurs or the phantom is destroyed by a fury of longswords.

Contribution list :D
Orphan
WARLORD117 pr
EpicCombo
CookieDMR
tsassi2
Wild Pig Man
Gruntpocalypto

(CO-OP PROJECT FOR THIS THREAD COMING UP! CONTACT ME IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO HELP OUT)

And... try not to "over/underdo it... I think a number of these things are very specific and only work under a few circumstances.

These are very nice ideas!

My favorite would have to be the Halo Firing one. Like a re-enactment of the Citadel in Halo 3?

All the other ideas are also very well thought of.

Here's hoping that Bungie notices this thread!

You know what the people like mate. I especially like the hold Y for fists I've thought about it from time to time. It would bring a whole new element for gameplay and could act as a blancing tool for the fact that elite weapons fire slower the Elite could be physically supioer and have a 1 or 2 hit kill (depending where you punch or in what fashion, like RT for a hayemaker LT for a quick jab and both for blocking) and spartan a 3 or 5 hit kill. I make a thread for this, it has some brainstorming weight to it. Don't worry I'll give you all the credit and a link to this.

"Ignorance is a plague."

Close, but the plague killed those infected with it, and the ignorant are still alive.
I wish ignorance was a plague.

If you are worrying about disc space, by the time this game would come out, the next generation of consoles might be out. I would assume that Microsoft and Sony's new consoles would at a minimum use BD-ROM discs, which have far more space than the current discs in the Xbox 360.

To be honest, when I first saw all this in the weekly update I thought 2 things.
#1- there is an actual legendary ending but,
#2- No matter what anyone does,(kill all the bobs, hit all switches etc) that until the "time" mentioned in "There'll be another time..." is reached there won't be a legendary ending.

The weekly update by bungie has slowed my hardcore search for what unlocks the legendary ending.

All of the ideas are incredible! I love em
However, There are some slight problems

1.Bungie covered almost all of the halo universe, there is hardly
anything left to put the next game in

Halo 2: What happened behind the lines of the Cove?

Halo 3: The Covenant invasion of Earth'

ODST :What happened between Halo 2 and 3?

Reach:The invasion of Reach

So I don't think there is any space to put a game in, but a valid reason may be the war aginst the covenant when the first Spartan program was made or what happened to the other spartans during any of the other halo games
ONYX

Let's be honest, it could be a lot worse.

I like the ideas. The new Forge should have stuff like weather effects or weapons cut out from previous Halo games, like the BR, SMG, Carbine, and ODST's automag.

  • 02.19.2011 5:18 PM PDT

Life's a game. How do you play?

Awesome idea. Hopefully this will be included in the next Halo game. Just calling it "Flood" would probably cover all the bases. Now, if we could mix up some cool stuff like Reznov's steps in Ascension...hmmm...

Ignore my gamertag. It's actually Dragonzzilla.

Excuse me, but I have a idea. Its kinda from my Book I'm writing. Its a Floodfight map.

Reaper's Cudgel
Fight for your life in the depths of an fallen lab-city against the undead horde. But beware; the Flood is not the only thing stalking these ancient halls...

- - -

Taking place in a fallen Forerunner lab-city underground, this map would have some similarties with Lone Wolf. On an elevated area with a lab, Flood come from all sides. Forerunner healing pads work the same purpose of Health packs; they can only be used once per [round/wave; I can't remember] because of the power reserves being so low.

Here are some details.

The Lab: The lab would be the starting place for the Spartans (or Elites). It features science notes and pictures on the walls, but their much more advanced and the language cannot be known.

The Lab itself is a building the size of 2-3 scorpions. It has lab tables with sentinel parts and bits and one table has a Forerunner Golem. Surrounding the lab is a courtyard of sorts, large and open; Forerunner turrets can be used.

The Outskirts: The outskirts are the area surrounding the lab. Most Flood spawn in this area, dropping from shafts and rising on elevators. A few weapons - which are more valuable than the ones in the lab - are scattered at key points. Going north leads to the "Forge".

The Forge: The Forge is a special place, having the most valuable weapons of the map. White lava pours from the canals on the walls into molds. No Flood spawn here, and will not pursue players into the Forge for a special reason. Every Round, the Reaper stalks the Forge. More details below...

The Reaper: The Reaper is the ultimate Forerunner warmachine. Designed to fight the Flood, it instills fear even into the Gravemind.

It is extremly tough to kill even on Normal; the Field Marshall is the equalent. It is immune to headshots and moves at unholy speeds. It bounces off the walls, climbs on the ceiling, and everything!

Killing it not only gives a massive amount of points, but also the Reaper's Cudgel for the remaining Round. It acts like the Gravity Hammer on a more powerful scale. After the round ends, it dissappears out of the holder's inventory until the Reaper is killed again.

Really liking the ideas OP has here!

Although, for campaign I would love them to go a different route. Give us limited squad controls, make things more gritty (Brutes actually being as in the books in terms of brutality etc), redo the scales (Brutes should tower over you, and lets not even start about Hunters).

Keep it Halo, but make it more mature. Make it more like Halo mixed with Saving Private Ryan grit.

I will upload some of my own ideas soon, don't have time for that right now ;)

What might the book be?
