I've heard a lot of people complaining about the AR handling like a submachine gun in terms of accuracy and power. since it fires the 7.62 round, this shouldn't be the case. It's differences from the BR sort of made sense 'cause they were in different calibers, but I read that the DMR also uses the same caliber and that confused me. Then I thought, maybe they're different loads? Like, what if the 7.62 AR ammo is diluted like the ammo in metro 2033? That could make sense if you had to supply however many troops with however much ammo while resources are taxed. Also this could explain why the AR and DMR can't share ammo. Not all guns fire at the same speed. Why would a pistol shoot a bullet the same speed a Barrette .50 Cal can?
