I've heard a lot of people complaining about the AR handling like a submachine gun in terms of accuracy and power. since it fires the 7.62 round, this shouldn't be the case. It's differences from the BR sort of made sense 'cause they were in different calibers, but I read that the DMR also uses the same caliber and that confused me. Then I thought, maybe they're different loads? Like, what if the 7.62 AR ammo is diluted like the ammo in metro 2033? That could make sense if you had to supply however many troops with however much ammo while resources are taxed. Also this could explain why the AR and DMR can't share ammo.

The AR is stated as being accurate at up to 300 meters, also in the books it takes down elites with like 10 shots.

Gameplay > Realism, although a more realistic halo would be pretty sweet. Also my paintball gun is more accurate than the AR in game, although if you only fire 2-3 shots the accuracy is pretty good, you just won't be able to kill anything.

I'm an Anarchist. I don't need a government to be a good person, but I'm glad it's here because some of you clearly do.

I was hoping to see a breakdown of the differences between the Ma5B, Ma5c, Ma37, and the Ma5k.

*typo

Note: I believe the most likely reason that you couldn't swap DMR mags with AR mags would simply be because the magazines aren't interchangeable. The bullets may very well be, but that doesn't mean that the magazines would.

I once heard an old man say " Years ago, i sold my trumpet for something to eat, and know i know it would be better to die of hunger."

I upload a ton of Halo clips on my YouTube channel, feel free to subscribe.

That would be way overpowered for the multiplayer.

Not all guns fire at the same speed. Why would a pistol shoot a bullet the same speed a Barrette .50 Cal can?

Time for classic gameplay>cannon/realism The AR performs like that in game so it is ballanced against the other weapons and in real life it would be capable of headshots, killing grunts/jackals in a few shots and elites in less than 15 shots and be more accurate with much more range.

When it comes to the canon, they should have really given the MA series a different caliber than 7.62x51mm. Say it uses 6.5x42mm or some new caliber. It is a bit of a stretch to believe conventional cased ammunition will be still be the standard 500 years from now. It is downright insane for that ammunition to be the same as today's calibers.

Somehow, small arms designers got really stupid between today and the 26th century.

Well the pistol would be shooting a shorter cartridge through a shorter barrel so of course it would have a different muzzle velocity than a long rifle firing a long round. The difference between the barrels of the DMR and AR isn't that great though and they fire the same bullet.
