Subject: My montages

Hi guys,

I thought you guys would like to see some montages I've made or have been in the past. Both are pretty good, and I consider myself a pretty good player. I play controller 90% of the time; however, most of these 1v1 clips are m/k.

I can be extremely proficient at both m/k and troller, it just so happens that the mouse I currently own (Razer Deathadder) is much too fast for H2V unless I install the driver software, which I definitely don't want to do because I also play CS:S and Quake, which have highly customizable settings that allow for highly accurate yet sensitive mouses to be slowed down to preference. Besides, playing with a troller is much more convenient and easy because of how badly H2V was ported >___>

Without further ado:

b2p: a community 1v1 montage edited by gabethesandro. My clips are at 1:05 and 1:20.

NOTE: I am listed as Stagga in the credits, because I'm known in the Halo3Forum community as Stagga, and that was my XBL gamertag. I have 3 different H2V accounts, iBoxxy01, ilama obama, and TLR Stagga.

Enjoy!

Yeah. That's right. I don't have a 50 in H3. I never got Onyx in Reach. If a game sucks too much, I won't even bother trying for such trivial "accolades". Besides, I've done way more things that take far more skill and talent than anything that can be done in a video game.

I really liked the shot at 0:53 in the first one, where your reticule was way above the dude's head but you still got the headshot. 0:37 was also a great headshot from about a foot to the right of the target at his shoulder height. But both of these shots pale in comparison to the very first shot of the video, where you fired your shot after swiping from right to left, missing his head by what's probably around 2 feet or so.

There is no such thing as "good" in Halo 2. Your montages are but two in the sea of thousands that prove this fact.

Grenades are like RAM, you can never have too much

considering ONE of those kills were a headshot, and only like two actually hit the guy
thats -blam!- awful

I praise the HD quality. :D

Me too. It makes it really easy to see that most of those shots actually didn't land.

Exaggeration. All of them were headshots, unless you are clearly blind. I also like the comment you made on the video:
holy -blam!- this just shows how bad halo 2s aim assist is
If you had actually read the OP, you would've seen that I played m/k for most, if not all of these 1v1 clips. Bullet magnetism is really to blame, but you talking about H2V's aim assist when I clearly spelled out that I used m/k just shows your ignorance and intolerance to reading.

Thanks. I made sure I preserved quality throughout the process. After my editor made the tage, I told him to send me the project file so I could render it out with my uncompressed clips, but alas, it didn't work. Still, the quality is quite exceptional :)

I think that it's the positioning of the sniper on the screen that doesn't let you see some of the shots that I did actually hit. Sure, there were those clearly missed shots that registered, but those were more of "WTF" clips than anything. It's also how H2V registers shots - in H2X you didn't have to aim ahead, in H2V you do.

You know, the kind that favors lack of aiming skill.

Seriously, if you're going to post stuff trying to convince people that you're

Posted by: Ilama obama
a pretty good player

then you might wanna consider posting videos that prove it. Maybe ones where you get headshots by actually hitting the head instead of the game giving you kills because you were "close enough."

I'm certainly not impressed. And that's bad, because it really doesn't take very much to impress me as far as gaming is concerned.

The bungie.net community is the halo PC community that is renowned for being unbelieveably sucky.

This really shows how noobified the hit detection is in this game. It's downright pitiful what Microbungiesoft did to Halo when they noobified H2.

Better at shooting in the general direction of an enemy and getting a hit? Congrats.

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

If you are going to do it, record another game like Halo 1 PC. Around here, everyone is going to accuse you of automatically having no skill if you do it with h2v.

I don't have H1, Windows 7 doesn't work with H1, and my mouse is wayyyy too fast for H1.

Hi, I'm DusK. I play H1PC on Win7 on two different PCs, and I know where the mouse sensitivity setting is because I'm not stupid.

  • 11.23.2010 9:11 PM PDT

Hi, I'm ilama obama. Unlike most mice on the market, my Razer Deathadder is highly sensitive and without the drivers, the slightest twitch on 1 sensitivity in Halo 2 Vista causes me to do a 180.

Don't be a -blam!-. You don't think I know what the mouse sensitivity controls are?

Also, I thought Win7 didn't work with H1PC simply because the trial doesn't work with Win7....

Technically, this falls under user error. Do you have a specific reason why you didn't install the drivers for this mouse? A mouse, I might add, which is really no better than the Logitech mouse I got for $30 cheaper?

Hence why 1.09 was a compat fix.

I'd like to have my mouse unencumbered by a set of software. Any decent game worth its salt will allow for precise mouse sensitivity adjustment. In CS:S, my sensitivity hovers around 0.45. In the case of Halo, however.....

Also, the MX518 didn't feel comfortable in my hands, in fact, most Logitech mouses don't.

Does the compat fix work with the trial? I'm guessing no.

Is there a way to get the full game online, that's capable of online multiplayer? I know how to torrent, it's just that torrenting never allows you to play online....

So you'd rather have your mouse encumbered by a lack of software rather than functioning correctly. Makes sense.Posted by: Ilama obama

You could order it from Amazon.

Ask any pro CS:S, Quake, TF2, etc. player and they'll say they didn't install the software drivers for their mouse. Every CS:S guide you'll see will say to disable pointer precision, to not install your mouse drivers, and to install a mousefix to make sure your mouse isn't encumbered by Windows and performs with its raw features.

Also, however ironic it is, I don't think it's worth the $11 + shipping....

I know the guide you're talking about. I didn't bother because the difference would be minimal and all my games support the removal of mouse acceleration, making all these steps next to useless. What I find funny is that you did all this stuff and still can't aim straight.

Unlike h2v, Halo PC works fine on my 7 laptop, with 1.09.

And if your mouse is too fast, then turn down the sensitivity. Or just use a different mouse. I just use a normal Logitech Wireless mouse to play PC games on my desktop, and for my laptop I use a $10 no-name wired mouse from Target.

  • 11.24.2010 12:55 PM PDT

Blame it on H2's hitboxes, not me. I'd play H1PC more if the servers weren't laggy and full of mexican hosters.
