Ive been inspired by Hikaru (who made an excellent snipers guide) to post some strategies and such that I thought might be helpful. It should be kept in mind however that these will not work without teamwork, TEAMWORK being the key word. It is actually very hard to get these plans to come together but when they do, the other team is dumbfounded.

1.
First of all, this is a defensive strategy that is best deployed early on for best results, as in right as the game starts. This will only work on levels with all three vehicles so it is somewhat limited in its application. The team should take their two ghosts, tank, and warthog and in the most convenient way possible, make their way to the enemy base and steal the enemies vehicles. This may take some time because you probably will die trying to get their stuff, but no matter, eventually it can be done and with most teams it is easy. When you have all the vehicles, now it is time to place them. The whole time the defensive team is doing this, the offense should be feircly attacking and distracting the enemy. The defensive team should use the warthogs as stationary guns. Sure, they will be rocket fodder, but they will just respawn in the base. Now, put the warthogs in a corner, but not right next to eachother so they can be taken out with a single rocket. But they should have overlapping fields of fire. The other two defensive members still need something to do. One of them should be in a tank. The tank should be in a spot where its only enemy is rockets, that means it is turned around so snipers cannot hurt him, much. He should have a clear line of sight to cover the flag as best he can. The fourth defensive member is in a ghost waiting outside the enemy base out of sight, but he can still see the base because of the third person camera angle. If the enemy does get the flag, he will swoop down and kill them and return it. The other three ghosts and one tank should be stuffed back in some corner, this way the enemy has no vehicles and is slower and less powerful. Or, the offense could use them, but there is a chance that they could be lost.

2.
This is called bait and switch, designed for blood gulch, but will work on other levels like it.
Ok this is for offense, you get a warthog with a gunner and a driver and a ghost for the main attack force. Then you can have tanks, other ghosts, infantry, the other hog, whatever, for support of this manuver. (snipers on a hill would be great for countersniping and killing respawners as the plan is carried out.) The warthog goes toward the enemy base, following the paths and sticking to the valleys. The ghost rides right next to him, as close as possible on the side that is not facing the base so he cant be seen. (this takes practice between the drivers but can be done and really does work.) They ride into the enemy base and break off near the flag, the ghost driver gets off and runs in for the flag, after he has it he runs outside. While this was happening the warthog broke off and circled the base and then comes in from the left so that the flag runner can hop into the empty passenger seat while the warthog is going full speed. (again, this takes practice but really does work, i have done this.) The gunner should hop off and get into the ghost that the flag capper was driving. He will be better able to cover the hog and pick up the flag if it gets hit with a rocket midfield. then the drive away full speed toward home and return the flag.

Ok, this is an offensive strategy and will work with almost any number of people on a team as long as there are atleast four, the numbers are even, and so are teams. (four per team I mean not four total.) Ok, so lets so that there is four per team for a total of eight players, the extra guys (if there are any) will fill in jobs that I will specify later.
Alright, this will be used for capture the flag when you are ahead in the game and feel as though you could risk losing a point, have a really solid flag defender or both. One man stays on defense, thats it. if you have 6 another can, if you have 8 another can, and so on. Every extra two men beyond 4 will allow for one more flag defender. The other extra man will be on offense in a position i will specify later Now, the three others are obviously on offense. These three people will work closely together to strengthen the force of their firepower. On certain maps they have have to spread out more because of rocket launchers . These three guys will be a self sufficient sqaud with enough diversity in their weapon selection to handle any problem.
Two assaults and one support.
Now remember that extra man I was telling you about? he will become another support and if there are another two people after that, he will be an assault and back and forth.
So 4 people, 6 people, 8 people,
1 defender, 2 defenders, 3 defenders,
2 assault, 2 assault, 3 assault,
1 support, 2 support, 2 support,

thats the pattern.
now, the defender can use whatever sneaky means him/they desire.
one assault should be a rifleman, meaning medium range sniper/sharpshooter.
From what weapons I know of in halo 2 this would mean a BR or CC (battle rifle or covenant carbine.) In halo, a pistol. This will allow him versatility in firepower but still allow him to accel at ranged combat. He can have whatever secondary weapon he wants but i would suggest a close range rapid fire weapon like the assault rifle or SMG. The second assault should accel at close combat i.e. shotgun!! secondary could be whatever. The support is the one that brings up the rear, and will have rapid fire capability and long range reach. SMG and sniper rifle or BR maybe. And if they have something like an M60 or M249 Para in H2 that would be much better than an smg. So there it is. now they move in and kill everything in there path.
hopefully.

4. Last one, Offensive strategy requiring two warthogs. Good for blood gulch but could work on others i suppose. One warthog is for attacking the other is the pickup. Also, this will only work when assaulting red base. One warthog with optional support, attacks the enemy base using whatever strategy they want. The other warthog is waiting in the caves where the oversheild is, to the right of red base. When the attacking team has the flag the flag runner will get ontop of red base and go through the warp, by this time the waiting warthog should already be well on their way out of the caves and pass by the teleport to pick up the runner, the warthog should have a gunner and an empty passenger sheet for the capper. The capper hops on and off they go.

Well thats all I have for right now, im stategied out, hope you liked atleast some of it.;

Not really, it happens alot when I play at my lan parties and I play with some good people. You just have to hoard them when they are brought to you.
