I don't care. I really don't.
This is an idea I had a few weeks back as an idea for what kind of Reach DLC there could be that has significance to canon, a non-screwy plot and so you could still play as Six. This is what it is and I was wondering what people thought and if it fits with canon or is just a plain old cheese fest with hopeful fanboyism.
If this doesn't fit in the Universe forum, then please tell me. Although I think this is correct to see if it fits with canon.
---Black Ink---
<January 2nd, 2552: Spartan-B312 is ordered from his/her work on the UNSCs Sabre Program to help a Prof. Herald Olin in a remote research site on the planet Bliss, a world that had been supposedly glassed. Due to the sensitive nature of Prof. Olin's work, Spartan-B312 is, although to Prof. Olin's dismay, assigned to defend him at all costs.
<January 16th, 2552: The UNSC Midsummer Night stealth frigate enters Bliss' system undetected due to its stealth capabilities. Spartan-B312 notices that for a simple retrieval mission, what it is according to his CO, that the tech and staff are unusually advanced and ready for action, such as himself/herself and the stealth Frigate, among other things. When Spartan-B312 questions Prof. Olin about it, he hints it might be bigger than it really is. Before Spartan-B312 can question him further, a CCS Battle-Cruiser appears in system. The Midsummer Night jams the ships comms, and then drops several dropships, including one with Spartan-B312 and Prof. Olin.
Prof. Olin, B312 and a squad of heavily armed ODSTs arrive at the destination: a large Forerunner artifact located on the far side of the planet buried deep underground besides the open sky central room. Olin explains that the Covenant somehow missed when they glassed the planet. As Prof. Olin starts the data retrieval, several hundred Covenant troops with dropships and vehicles to compliment arrive at the facility. Prof. Olin then, realizing there's no way out, activates the artifact, seeming to know how it works and reveals he was head of the team that was in charge of getting it working before the planet fell.
Before B312 can find out what the object is, Prof. Olin sets sets the countdown for the charges to destroy the artifact and guides Spartan-B312 to a giant, black sphere that has formed in the central chamber and jumps in.
---Installation 04---
<January 17th, 2552: Spartan-B312 awakes, finding themselves on a snady shore. As they stand, they see the horizon extends upward; a halo, even if they don't know it.
Knowing that standing around and wondering what they're on, Spartan-B312 goes and finds the rest of those who came through: the Spartan finds Prof. Olin and the ODSTs minus one, which is revealed to have been abducted by a "light-bulb" according to one of the ODSTs who saw him.
With the artificial construct as their only lead, they head in that direction. They find that the Covenant also made it through, although they don't seem very worried about establishing contact with the fleet, but rather examining the structures that dot the surface.
After destroying several of these parties, they find a crashed Frigate: the Midsummer Night, minus it's engines and reactors after it was blown off. After moving in to examine the vessel, the group discovers most of the troops are still onboard.
---Cole Protocol---
<January 18th, 2552: The ship's CO, Commander Ingram, reveals that they were losing in orbit and moved towards the portal for extraction, however they were pulled through without knowing.
The Battle-Cruiser also came through, however the explsion damaged it, but it still has movement capabilities.
The captain then decides to enact Cole Protocol, but it will take time before it will be done because of how damaged the ships systems are.
Before Prof. Olin is even half done, the Covenant arrive to destroy the UNSC forces. Spartan-B312 is tasked with defending the crashed ship with the remaining Scorpion tank.
After several waves of Covenant forces, a Banshee destroys an access way to a terminal; one that still has Earth's data. Commander Ingram then orders Spartan-B312 to perform the last action possible: destroy the ship with a Shiva Nuclear warhead.
The Spartan sets the timer and escapes in a warthog driven by Prof. Olin. However, as they are moving to rendevouz with rest of the UNSC forces, the construct returns and takes Prof. Olin, leaving B312 to limk-up with the UNSC forces alone.
---343 Guilty Spark---
<January 18th, 2552: Commander Ingram manages to get a tech specialist to track the construct. It stops moving when it reaches a large structure; a structure which also happens to have the Covenant Battle-Cruiser hovering over it.
Commander Ingram, seeing it as their last action possible, to strike with all the forces they have to destroy the ship.
Spartan-B312 however is ordered for the structure instead, taking several of the original ODSTs with them to find Olin. In the structure, B312 fights past the Covenant to find Prof. Olin, the ODST and the construct. It is revealed to be 343 Guilty Spark, the monitor of Installation 04.
For the past few hours, Prof. Olin has been getting the coordinates of the ring and placed it inside a Forerunner ghost virus, and wants Spartan-B312 to return it to UNSC space, but keep it secret along with the events on the ring, and to give the coordinates to an AI.
When B312 asks which AI, Olin says he'll have to decide for himself.
Olin then produces a bomb of Forefunner make; he seems to be wanting to leave nothing left behind, even asking Guilty Spark to purdge his memory of the event, even if such a purdge will cause signs of rampancy. The Spartan is confused why Olin wants it to be so secret, but does not question.
Olin then shows Spartan-B312 and the ODSTs to a return portal to Bliss, although it might be a "bumpy" landing without the proper reciever on the other side.
The Spartan, ODSTs and the coordinates eneter the portal, and Olin avtivates the bomb as Spark teleports out.
Then, light engulfs the structure and Battle-Cruiser, and all signs that the battle even happened were only in the mind.
On Bliss, Spartan-B312 finds none of the ODSTs survived the landing, and they are the only survivor of the battle who remebers it.
<March 21st, 2552: Spartan-B312 is being interogated by his/her CO about the events on Bliss, with the Spartan stating that all valuable data was destroyed and the Midsummer Night was shot, all hands lost. It was the truth. But not the whole 7ruth.
And an Legendary Ending:
August 30th, 2552: Spartan B-312 sits in the back of a pelican on thier way to Aszod, Cortana in hands. Then a thought strikes the Spartan, and they implant a chip into the device.
I know many won't make it past "Installation 04", but I think it's cool, so don't call me a "U r 12 y3ar 0ld n0000bz".
I want to know if it fits.
