If you are willing to use your brain, you will find alot more enjoyment in CE than 2-Reach. The game is still linear, but much less so as you can play the same game in a much wider variety of approaches.
Weapon Combos-No dual wield, but you will be thankful for it as I found DW cumbersome. You can have fun using all of the weapons, or challenge yourself after getting used to the game by limiting yourself to what seem to be the least useful weapons for the given scenario. Once you know your way around, and get comfortable with what you are up against (a few play throughs), try grenades and melee only for the first few levels!
Tactics-You can actually use them to your advantage here. Jackal Snipers and Dual PR wielding Elites in Legendary H2-Reach could make life really miserable. You will find that you can actually do alot more than just hide and snipe in CE. The game is much more up close and personal. I have a feeling you will like the fact that the enemies appear closer, bigger and more in your face. This makes planning much more appropriate in CE than the other games.
Vehicles-You have to use them in certain areas in all games, granted, but in CE you can choose to walk much more of the maps than drive or glide. You cannot do anything with the Wraith except blow it to a smoking ruin (but there is a certain satisfaction to that!)
Skulls-There are none in the game. The advantage is that you are working with a consistent set of physics and gameplay mechanics. The drawback is that things you have gotten used to (Sputnik, GBP, Envy, Catch), well the fun or enhancing aspects of those are gone. Ah, the thrill of watching a pile of dropped grenades chain react with a well placed head shot with GBP/Catch/Sputnik active....who know that a grunt could cause pretty much a cluster bomb effect!
It will be interesting to see your reaction playing this one last!
