Escalators don't break, they just become stairs.

My friend got the new XBOX and i'm not sure if he was joking or not but he said if your XBOX gets tapped while the disc is in, it says the disk is unreadable. I'm not sure about the quality of the disk though or if he was exagerating and accidentaly dropped it.LOL. I have had an Arcade with a 20 gig harddrive for many years and has red ringed of death only twice in its at least 4 year lifetime so they are reliable.

Well I was unfortunate in that mine red ringed (hardware fault) only after the 3 years warranty. And since I live in Singapore, it would cost a bomb to repair it.

I would say get the new xbox360. The reason for it is because
1) you have a built in network adaptor
2) 250gb hardrive
3) Allready ready for Kinect
4) They probably make sure to fix all the problems before it hit shores
5) It look's sexy

Greetings everyone, I wasnt sure where to post this thread, so I'll just go right ahead. I recently had my xbox of 4 years die on me and am searching for a replacement. I am unsure of whether to purchase an older model or the new 360 'Slim'

Feedback from the community on this matter would be greatly appreciated, especially those that own the new 360.

I know, right?
Jay acts like she's better than everyone else simply because she's a chick.
I hope she chokes to death.

I've got the Slim, and I love it. Built-in wireless, 250 GB hard drive, and it's incredibly sexy, too. :D

Quick as a razor, sharp as a bullet.

Not sure what the 360 Slim is, but I'd certainly pick up a 360 S.

This. If you don't really use wireless, then consider getting the older one.

Never ague with an idiot, they will just drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

The thing still eats disks if its knocked over but it's improved in every other way.

Go for a Slim as they cost the same as the older versions did just before it came out.
