It does look like a Shortsword, but those are Ensembles creation, and so far Bungie hasent added anything from Halo Wars into their own games.

So it probably is the Wombat. And there is no reason why it couldint be. In ODST they are shown as unmaned assault/recon units, thanks to their incorporated cameras.

except for the fact that it looks just like a longsword

Yep. These are Wombats.

The wing doesn't match up to a Wombat though.

What wing? The "Longswords" or the ones on that picture? 'Cause those are wombats.

Longswords are bigger than that. Remember The Ark in Halo 3, when that Longsword crashes? It was much bigger than the image from Tempest.

It's either a Shortsword or a Wombat. And remember that Bungie could have altered the asthetic look of the Wombat (Compare Halo 3 Banshee to Reach Banshee) making the wing different.

I dont know, I'm still going with a Wombat. Unless Bungie made the Longswords smaller this time around.

I'm aware of what the size of Longswords in the pass have been. I also did not say that I thought it was just like those Longswords or any ship for that matter.

What I did say is that comparing the wing of the crashed ship to the Wombat they do not match up in terms of shape.

Also, going with the argument that Bungie altered the aesthetic look isn't really going anywhere unless we see one intact or have Bungie actually identify it for us much like the Albatross from Relic being identified ahead of time.

its not a wombat, its a bleeding longsword, its absolutely, 100% identical in every possible way except scale. so im going with bungie changed scale for some reason this time around, sort of makes sense since the longsword was enormous, especially compared to the fighters it was fighting, things like seraphs which are way way smaller. i would guess they've changed scale, not expecting anyone to really notice, its not so much a big deal.

problem for me is that would make the longsword have a greater wingspan than a boeing 777, though its not impossible. not sure how big that aircraft is based on the picture, but it looks identical to a longsword. though its worth noting that throughout the halo games, the longsword has always seemed like a large fighter so its possible the size is accurate.

Well, atleast here it's pretty big.

pk...thanks for that clip...i saw the hole that chief came out of and did some calculating. His hole was one out of 11 holes on that side of the ship. So if there are that amount of holes on the other side of the ship. How much does that give us? THATS right atleast 22 longswords

Which leads to question: Does that fit into 1170 meters?

Also: Has someone checked the sizes of the barrels on Tempest's wreck? (Don't have the map pack yet) Pics would be nice.
