This idea is mainly an improvement for the Administrators of groups.

Would it be possible to add the Admin. capability to PM the whole group at one time with the same message. As it is now, I have to individually PM each member with the same cut and paste info (and many key clicks and scrolls up / down) to message everyone.

Yes, I think everyone should visit the forums as often as possible but most people belong to more than 5 (or 10 +) groups. So it takes them a long time to visit everyone. Since most players are always checking their stats, I figured they would be more likely to read mail as well.

If your worried about email spam, just realize that it is only the Admin who has this capability and the Admin would only be able to message his own group members. The group could always be put on probation if the privilege is abused.

I will understand if this is a resource issue. Don't know what the limits are for the PM system and as such you may be restricted to disk space allocations.
I know you have to work within the limits of the system.

And I don't have any clue on how difficult this would be to implement.

Has this capability been considered? If this has been considered and rejected, for whatever reason, would you consider rearranging the PM page to place the buttons at the top of the page as well as at the bottom?

Sorry for all the questions. Just thought this might be something good to do. I know I know.... Just play the game and stop asking for forum improvements.....ha ....Thanks for your time and consideration. dave

It's a good idea. Never having been a group leader, I wouldn't be able to weigh the usefulness of this, but from my standpoint it sounds good. More ideas for Bnet. Post your thoughts.

I like that. I can't see it being abused at all, actually. I mean, of the group I was in had an Admin spamming messages to everyone, I would just leave. Then he would lose a group. Great idea. I think it should be only the founder though.

To be honest, if they're not checking your news page then they're not that interested in your group.

GOWEB, I agree with you completely. I think everyone should be checking their groups on a weekly if not daily basis.

But since time is of the essence for most players, and we know most players check their stats (a lot) on the Bungie web site, I figured that that little envelope icon would be a good enticement to pull them further into the Bungie web site (and also impart the group message). It’s another way to increase group activity.

I see this new Administrator PM capability as yet another way to build the Community. Those of us who create and manage these groups are stewards for the Bungie Community. I want Bungie and its web site to thrive and grow. And this request as yet another opportunity to do just that. It’s a simple hook to pull them in and get involved.

And as Pimps at Sea said, if the Admin PM capability was abused, then players could and would just leave the group. And he also said ONLY the Founder should have this ability. I agree.

If you tell me this request is on your to-do list, then later say that it was too difficult to accomplish (or some other reason not to do it). I will understand and accept that fact and move on. No hard feelings. I will continue look for opportunities to build a better site for the good of Bungie and everyone using the site.

Thanks, dave

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

One time for a roup im in i had to PM every member

Thats about 1000 or so people.

I stoped after about 20 cuz doing it one at a time was hard.

I myself would find it useful. While not entirely necessary, it does save the founder time and can quickly get out important news to The Group. Don't like the founder spamming mail to you? Well, there's always the option to leave, and suddenly his power to spam you would be zilch.

It's not something that HAS to be implemented for the sake of The Column, however it would save time and be extremely helpfull. I'm all for it.

It is a great idea, however, it may be hard to apply.

It is a very unique idea, I have to give you credit for that.

I read your post. To reiterate, it is not a necessary feature, but it would be useful.

Thank you Jellybug, I think it would be a very usefully tool and may just help increase forum/group activity. Not sure of its effort to worth ratio. As in, how much effort would be needed to implement verses how much benefit would we get out of it. If it takes very little effort to put into action, then it might be worth it.

I'm always trying to think of ways to increase activity in here/and in my group.

My two cents, for what its worth. dave
