Subject: How Many Mark VI suits exist?

By October 20, 2552 the MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor, designation Mark VI entered into formal service, and was delivered directly from Songnam to the ODP Cairo, where said suit was equipped on the Spartan known as John - 117.

As far as we know he is the only Spartan either II or III to receive the Mark Mjolnir VI.

Linda, Fred, Will, and Kelly all wear the Mark V.
Most of the Spartan IIIs wear the SPI or Mark V Field Variations and customizations.
Grey Team (assuming they are still alive) wear the Mark IV
and Team Black wear the Mark VI prototype BLACK.

So, question is; just how many Mark VIs where in the field once the armor entered service?

I would guess maybe 1 or 2 (they must have spair parts for it). LIke you said nobody really knew of any other surviving spartans so i assume that they would go making a whole bunch of them just for the fun of it.

Like two, all the Spartans wearing them are dead or missing. As far as I know anyway.

Well, John-117 received his on Cairo Station.

Fred-104, Linda-087 and Will-043 all received MkVI around the same time, and used them in a series of operations on Earth and also the Battle of Onyx.

Maria-062 tested a suit of MkVI in the Halo Graphic Novel.

That's 5 we know of having being issued, plus entire spare suits, and a mass of spare parts for them.

Maria's suit is John's suit.

I could have read the in-game information wrong, but I'm very sure that the Scout and Recon helmets in Reach are both Mark VI.

I know that a helmet being Mark VI isn't exactly an entire suit, but it still shows that Mark VI had been implemented, at least in-part, before even Halo 1.

Signatures are for squares.

To my knowledge, there are only four Mark VI suits.

John received his first, after it was tested by Maria.

The surviving members of blue team were issued Mark VI as well.
Fred, Linda, and Will all received Mark VI and used it during the defense of Earth and the battle of Oynx.

Kelly still has Mark V.

Gray Team(to our knowledge) is still wearing Mark IV.
Black Team wears a variation of Mark IV.

Black Team wore Skunk armor, a super enhanced prototype of Mark VI, so that doesn't really count.

5 for all other spartans.

And the one that was in the fighting game, even if it isn't halo canon, so thats six

Uhhh... If it isn't Halo canon, then it doesn't count or exist.
Plus, the 'fifth' one that Maria tested in the HGN apparently somehow became 117's suit, despite the fact that Maria and John are different shapes and sizes.

well, they may have developed versions of it for odst or marines.

I don't care. I really don't.

The suit adjusts; the Mk. IV suits were all the same size yet a marine wore one (died of course) and Sam wore another without problem. No doubt it's the same with Mk. VI.

Yeah, I know that doesn't make sense. But Maria tested the Mark VI armor, and then apparently it was shipped up to the Cairo. It's assumed to be the same armor, but I don't believe it was confirmed. Why make an extra set of Mark VI armor for a retired spartan? Seems like a waste of money and resources.

Ok, so in the end only Fred, Linda, Will and John wore Mark VI Suits?...

(Said Mark VI would be the production models, since the ones wore by team BLACK where said to be Mark VI prototypes of sort).

Sam was about 7'10"-8', and John is 6'11. That marine will have been no taller than 6'5".

The suits are tight-fitting body suits with armour plates over the top. They would have to be individually tailored (for want of a better word) and fitted.

That, and don't forget, ONI is constantly testing upgrades and role-specific variants, so a number of them would be needed for modification and testing. I'd say around 50-60 in existence, plus spare parts, and some upgrades for the next generation of S3's, although this would only be if they continued to train Spartans, and equipped superior individuals with MJOLNIR, like they did with Noble Team.

Bobcast is paid in MILF blind dates.

Well, since some of the S-III Beta Company got Mark V it makes you wonder if some of Gamma Company got any Mark VI suits.

The only S-IIIs from Beta Company that got Mark V were Kat and B312, that's only because they were in Noble Team.

If it counts, I believe Noble Six has access to a MkVI suit.

this is an interesting proposal...

I was just thinking that there could be more...a lot more. There were probably 30+ suits that were in the process of being made, but since the Battle of Reach and the issuance of Mk VI is only what? 1-2 month difference. There could be suits unused since the majority of Spartan-II's were lost during the aforementioned battle that they were intended for. (Sorry, if this makes no sense)

How can you tailor a suit that is made of titanium when it, at the point of current developement, cannot have a specific user becuase it is unknown who will wear it? The Mk. IV started going into development and was completed before the Spartan IIs were even going into their augmentations.
The armour can change density (confirmed for Mk. VI), and it would make sense just to make one-size fits all than make suits customized for people that might not even survive the genetic modifications they are to undergo before they wear the armour.
So I am going to stick with the four known of suits, rather than five, as the technology wouldn't change if it works for Mk. IV to Mk. V to Mk. VI.

P.S. I don't think Sam was the height you say, because although a "head taller" is quite a bit, it's not a foot/near-foot or he would look retardedly disproportioned and be unable to funtion in battle or even in ordinary life.
Plus, if he was normally proportioned, he would stick out like a sore thumb and would've instantly compromised the mission in Eridanus when they tried to disguise themselves as workers.

Spartans that whore the Mk VI: John, Fred, Will, Linda and possible others.
