Okay, before you start reading, you should know that I'm not that great at typing long messages, I tend to cram it into as smaller place as possible.

'Hackers', and modders, well, Bungie won't stand for them on Halo 2 Xbox, but they can roam free ruining players' of the PC version of Halo'(1)s fun. It's happened to me quite a few times now. I've been happily playing, a new game starts, and hey presto, there's the hacker flying in the air, and everyone else's PC locks up. Of course I go through the usual arduous tasks of trying to exit the game, ctrl, alt delete, tapping the windows key, attempting to shut down, but in the end of course I just have to turn it off at the power source. So I leave the PC for a bit to cool down, and try again. PC boots, and I log on, nothing works correctly. I switch off and try again, 'Active Desktop is disabled etc etc.' After reactivatiing my desktop, My computer is finally working again.

Why should I have to put up with that? This is still happening after the security patches, obviously a new patch is needed to stop the 'hackers'. I can no longer play Halo without fearing for the health of my computer. What do Bungie do? Nothing.
Is that right? I don't think so.

Dang......thats really ridiculous that people have to go through all of that instead of Bungie just making a new patch for the software.

Whoah, I've never been hacked tht bad. In fact, the only time I saw a hack in use, the guy was using it for a few minutes to show some other guy. He didn't even use it on us on the other team...

Time to find a new server, dude. Go on the AoY servers - they've got admins. Clan servers are usually good, too, since they don't put up with anything.

Agreed. Complete and malicious hacks like that are pretty rare. Personally knowing one or two hackers, it does take a while to hack someone's computer and -blam!- it up THAT badly. Unless you're some sort of pro hacker.

I'd stick with one of the more innoculous servers, like clan [RS] 's servers, =HALO FIGHT= servers and AoY servers.

Thanks for the advice.

I will unfortunately have to steer clear of the less well known server creators, and stick to the clan type servers.
It just saddens me that this is all because Bungie, Microsoft or Gearbox can't be bothered to make a patch.

They hack other peoples computers since they are failures in life, and want to feel better about themselves, so they ruin other peoples computers.

I hate when the name modder gets disgraced. Those are modders, but are really hackers. A modder is someone who uses modding for the creative process. A hacker is one who mods to get his kicks off damaging others, one way or another. I am a modder, and proud of it. I am definatly NOT a hacker. I mod on my own, play with others who have my mod, and leave it at that. Don't ever call a modder a hacker if u don't exactly know what you are talking about.

Sorry if I sound like a jerk. It's just I hate our bad rep.

Hey I’m new to bungie and well somewhat new to halo after my friend got me into it about a month ago... but anyway I am having a prob with hosting and am wondering if it is the result of being hacked or what ever.

It used to be when ever I would make a server lots of people would log in within 2-3 minutes of its creation but about 2 or 3 days ago now when ever I make a server no one logs in at all. I can leave my computer and let my servers go through about 5 games each 30 minutes long but still no one will log in...Is there something wrong with my hosting abilities or was I hacked? Cuz I did ban a person by mistake and after that happened was when this all started.

I played house of {MO} last night and I thought it kicked ass. Virtually no lag, and some damn good players.

Bungie has gotten so bad you can't even play them anymore.

Props to {MO}.
