Subject: What is zombies?

I was in a server called zombies and it was shotguns only no nades. Anyway I shot somebody and then everyone started -blam!-ing me out and I was like "WTF is you guys problem" and they said "no shooting in zombie mode" "I was like its called Slayer, this is Halo you are suppose to shoot" then they banned me. WTF is up with this? Is zombie mode some weird mod or something? Or was the server just full of immature kids making stupid rules up (like many servers seem to be lol).

Zombies is a community created game, meaning that the rules are enforced by the players themselves because there is no system in place to ensure this in game, where the red team is considered the "human" team and green team is considered the "zombie" team.

Being a community created game like I mentioned earlier, there is no system in place to divide the weapons between the teams. Each player starts with br (sometimes a shotgun instead) and a sword. Human team uses br/shotgun ONLY, and zombies ONLY use swords.

Normally there is only one zombie at the start of the game. Once a zombie kills you (with a sword), you switch to the zombie team. The game goes on until everyone is a zombie and the last player alive is credited with the "win"

You must have entered the game on the zombie team and they saw a green team player shooting.

Thanks.

And yeah, just for a bit of extra clarification, it is crucial for people to honour the rules. Once people start messing around it usually breaks the game which is why people tend to get over sensitive and react harshly to rule breakers.

I'm sure if you explained you didn't know the rules and it wasn't intentional someone would have (hopefully) explained them to you.

I'm not saying the people you played with were right either. They didn't need to snap at you. I know when I host zombie games and see rule breakers I don't assume it's people messing around at once. I always ask if everyone knows the rules first and quickly explain the rules in text chat while I'm playing even if everyone says yes they do (in case someone is afraid to speak up).

Zombies is where I spent a great deal of my time on CE on. It's great, but only if people follow the rules.

That gametype also inspired Infection from Halo 3/Reach.

I like to go and disrupt zombie games because they're stupid and everybody reacts so extreme that it's entertaining just to be a jerk.

lol.

Just for the record, Infection in Halo 3 and Reach was spawned by the popularity of Zombie in Halo 2. The same with SWAT.

When I played, humans only got magnums in Zombie... took a lot more skill (and camping on Foundation haha).

Tower of Power is great! Do people still play it on Vista?

I know I've played it before, but, I can't remember what it is. It was a long time ago when all my friends would get together and play System Link. Days before I had Xbox LIVE and Halo 3 wasn't out yet.

It was a game on Ascension, all shotguns, no shields. Inside the big tower (AKA the Tower of Power), on the top floor, was a machine gun turret that overlooked most of the map. The goal was to control this tower, and thus, control the turret for massive slaughter of the enemy team. Great times were had.
