says the nub with pink armor
Listen up.
Alot of people are not playing reach just because they are bad at halo 3.
The biggest reasons I am getting from the people I talk to is that
"its the latest game in the series"
and the other reason I get is
"Its just more relaxing to not get threats and hate messages after every game over something stupid such as a rank"
1 person I have met so far out of the thousands actually play it for the reasons you guys are listing, "Its easier to kill other players"
People aren't going to say, "I like Reach because I wasn't good at Halo 3" because their ego stops them from it.
Reach is a game with more randomness, less skill gap, and a whole mentality revolving around everyone being a winner, so those who aren't very good at Reach can still feel like they are good, even when they get buttraped by skilled players they still succeeded because they got 1500cR to spend.
Obviously people will play it because it's new, but that doesn't mean it's better. People may prefer it because it's new, but that doesn't mean it's better. They prefer it because they feel they are better at it, and everyone is, because Reach is a far easier game than Halo 3.
Good players aren't annoyed at how they're losing, because we aren't, we're annoyed that we die from things we shouldn't to people we shouldn't because they can use something cheap or skilless and no matter how good we are there is nothing we can do
(e.g. Armour Lock - I choose Sprint, run at someone with the sword, slice them, they AL. I didn't know they had AL, and based on my knowledge I made all the right decisions to win the fight. Yet they can still AL, EMP me, melee, and win, because they got caught out by the better player.)
Skill is largely based on what you know and what you do with it, and if you're saying that to counter Armour Lock I can never attack with a sword or splatter with a ghost in the possibility that they might have it then if that's not game breaking I don't know what is.
Simply put, Reach is easier than Halo 3, because everyone can get some cheap kills and feel like they succeeded.
