default. Thats just how i learned it, if you are used to some other games setup, use that.

You might be suprised at my setup:

forward: E
backward: D
strafe left: S
straffe right: F
Zoom: A
Use/Enter/Reload: W
Melee: R
Reload: X
Pick up weapon: C
Fire: Left Mouse Button
Grenade: Right Mouse Button
Switch Weapon: Mouse Wheel Up
Switch Grenade: Mouse Wheel Down
Crouch: Z and Middle Mouse Button
Jump: Spacebar
Pick
Chat: V
Team Chat: T
Vehicle Chat: G
Scoreboard: TAB

Mouse sensitivity: 2 for both horizontal and vertical movement

Pros:
*fingers in a neutral position that's the same as when you're typing
*don't have to move my fingers more than a key away to press certain buttons.
*easy access to melee
*quickly switch weapons and grenades with the mouse wheel
*2 different crouch buttons, so one finger can take over when the other gets tired
*Slightly lower mouse sensitivity allows more accurate shooting, especially when you panic

Cons:
*you have to hold the middle mouse button to crouch and activate the zoom, and then hold Z to crouch and fire, which can be bad for intense sniping. I just got so used to that, i didn't bother to fix it.
*separate reload and weapon pick-up in awkward keys
*Slightly lower mouse sensitivity can be bad when fighting in a vehicle, especially when the enemy is stunning you with plasma weaponry.

Modded for comfort and speed. Movement, flashlight, action, zoom are default, but instead of my weapon switch on the tab, I use the left shift button. And my crouch button is the left alt button, while my jump is the spacebar.

However, you have to hold the middle mouse button to crouch and activate the zoom, and then hold Z to crouch and fire, which can be bad for intense sniping. I just got so used to that, i didn't bother to fix it.

sounds great!!, I want to try it.

That's actually a pretty good idea, MA5B! I like the default with a couple modifications, but sliding the movement buttons over a key gives you more room to press letter buttons. I'll have to give that a shot!

I started playing Unreal Tournament '99 way before Halo PC, so I got used to using the directional area rather than the main key area like most FPS's. I also use NumLock as my TS keybind.

I have most of my controls set to default, except my secondary fire/grande is my mouse 4 button on the side of the mouse, and my reload/action key is tab. Otherwise just about everything is the same.

No, this is not on the main keyboard. hmm... that would be odd...
Its on the keypad, easy to use, and in some older cases, removable. dang, where did my removable keypad go.. i miss it...

Don't drink to excess– You might shoot at tax-collectors... and miss

Computer: Power Mac G5 CPU Type: PowerPC G5 (2.2) Number Of CPUs: 2 CPU Speed: 1.8 GHz L2 Cache (per CPU): 512 KB Memory: 1.25 GB Bus Speed: 900 MHz

ATi Radeon X800 XT Mac Edition
Display Type: LCD Resolution: 1680 x 1050 Depth: 32-bit Color

I'm left-handed Macuser.

I use a Kensington Expert Mouse, (It's really a trackball), with my left hand. The right lower button is the primary trigger.

With my right hand I use the arrow keys for forward-backward-left-right movement.
Spacebar = jump
End = Zoom
Delete = Crouch
Keypad 0 = Grenade
Control+Mouse click = Melee
Tab = Switch weapon
E = Enter vehicle
Either E or R will reload. I should change that to R only– sometimes it's awkward when you jump into a hog instead of reloading.

I've seen a game controller from Belkin that looks interesting. Anyone tried it?

Defaults. WASD kix ass.

EXCPETIONS:

5-button mouse. left side, smaller one forward, larger to rear.

small forward is flashlight, large rear is zoom.

I use a Microsoft Intellemouse, so the middle button is hard to use, so that's why I changed the zoom.
