Man i think this is a very daring project dude and i think it will require a lot of attention to detail if you want it to have good strategy and gameplay, etc. But what u have so far looks -blam!- sweeet. I think this project is great and wish u the best of luck.
Btw, is it going to be like you can walk around in these ships while there flying? If so that seems pretty difficult to do. Or are there just going to be seats or whatever that u press button to enter and u have to be in a seat while ship is flying?
Also, with this idea of anti air and ship to ship combat, wouldnt that mean the ships would have to be destructible??
with your last point: if I want it to look good, yes. I can look at some of the tags for destroying the longsword, that would help.
No, you can walk around in the ships while they are flying, the ships would move too fast.
You just seat in them and do nothing, but there are fake interioirs (well, will be) that you walk around in when first boarding, each labeled for parts of the ship (cause the ships are about 3 lengths of hallway [between each blast door slot] and there fore, i cant have a full scale bridge, armory, etc. So i just have labels on the floor, you stand on the label and it acts as a seat. I will also have a shaft containing a staircase to the bottom of the ship, so you can get in and out when they arent attached to the station.
And someone was talking about the ctf would be like blood gulch, but this isnt true. With a highly complex interior, the insides of each station must be navigated, on foot, and without a gun (when you have the flag) plus, the only way into the station will lead you into a maintnance shaft that runs down from the top to the middle, right above the flag, but with no access to it directly. So you would need to work your way around the interior to get to the flag.
And that wouldnt be easy, seeing as most people will want to fly the ships, half the team may be at their own station (4 ships, 4 drivers) but they may act as passengers too. The ships will carry:
2 passengers
1 driver
1 gunner.
I dont want to have ships carrying an entire force of 8 people.
The umbilicals have roughly been made, and i am currently working on perfection. The interiors of the ships has been planned and layed out, seeing as i now have a textured 3 way intersection and 90* turn piece (from the pillar of autumn, larger hallways)
It turns out that the longsword doesnt fit in the station (?) so it will not be included, however, pelicans do and will be included. Pelicans vs Seraphs. sounds ok to me, seeing as the pelicans have homing missiles (they are from hugeass, so..) and a chain guns.
I still dont have a marathon model, because the person who was supposedly getting it for me is leaving halo ce due to a dispute with other forums. (not a good idea, i tried it once..)

btw nice work on your beta.
the covie cruiser needs a little tweaking.
try bump mapping everything too while you're at it.
It will not be made a single player map, not yet at least, i am planning on making a single player version when i finish the multiplayer version.
And yes, i know the covi cruisers need, er, tweaking. They are actually facing the wrong direction (thats why the guns shoot backwords)
Other than that, nothing in the map is supposed to be smoothed, except for the covi stuff, which im not even working with yet.
