Personally, I think this is great! I loved Combat Evolved, it was the only game I played until (guess what?) Halo 2. This game is the legitimate beginning to all that is FPS in the world. AKA-- the father of shooters. Not to mention Combat Evolved kick-started what is arguably the greatest story of all video gaming. And with this game, Bungie birthed the multiplayer shooter, creating LAN parties that I'm sure all remember dearly. 343 Industries is restarting playability as gaming's biggest bad ass, Master Chief, and I would kill (Covies, of course) to get to see him in the glory that is the Reach engine. And I would be fine if all 343 did was up the graphics in the new Combat Evolved and maybe add forge and theatre (and collectible hidden skulls, please!) to make this a successful remake. Better graphical geometries and a Reach-like HUD would make this game like a new release.
To haters,
Don't rad on 343 Industries because they are remaking a classic! If you don't want it, don't buy it! This will be their first big production so maybe they want something easy to work on-- like an old game.
Some complain that 343 Industries is going to kill Bungie! WRONG!!! Guess what, Bungie owns 343, making 343 Bungie's dedicated Halo-er and allowing Bungie to make more not Halo games.
For the record, Halo: Reach was elected 2010's multiplayer Game of the Year, leaving Treyarch's CoD: Black Ops in 3rd (also behind Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, another good game by Ubisoft Montreal). Thank you OXM for confirming what I truly believed. Kudos! to OXM.
