Heya. Does anyone know how big the XBox 360 waiting lists are. Like, if I was to pre-order one, when it would be expected to arrive?

Do you know how long it will be before it hits the shops?

Thanks

you just need to go to stores that don't preorder and just wait in line. Like Kmart or sears doesn't preorder them but go wait in line opening day and I bet you'll get one. I'm just going to wait at sears when they open walk in and buy one. People don't think of sears or a couple other places as were to buy games but they sell them and they will have some for sail opening day

Service Record

Two gamestores close to were I live will have a grand total of 50 Xbox 360s.
If you didn't pre-order over six months ago, don't plan on owning one this year.

Yeah. I was considering that - I went in to a local game shop, nothing major, but they do sell it all. They don't pre-order, but he said he didnt know if he'd even have any on the day they come out...

The chief export of Chuck Norris is pain.

I like to rush the doors at Wal Mart or Best Buy. It's half the fun of getting a new system. There's always grandpartents in the front of the line that everyone blows by when they open the door.

If the little kids beat me to the 360s I figure it's not that bad seeing as how I'm just going to play Halo on it anyway.

Yeah same here. Just Halo. Along probably with a couple of other games, like COD 2. Anyway, I was just kind of hoping I could get it asap - bday and xmas prezzie combined. Plus, if my dad's talking about waiting until they hit the shelves, that might be a while, and I wanted to know when abouts that would be, so if it's too long I could try get him to preorder. I guess he's kinda hoping when the waiting list is gone, the prices will drop.

I am going to be able to get one because I preordered in July (Allah is great). But if I wasn't, I would be bum rushing someplace nobody goes like Sears.

My town only has 5000 people living in it and Walmart opens at 7:00 AM here. I plan on waiting by the door untill they open. I'll get one, I hope:)

There are tons of 360's on ebay for sale. I doubt that you will find a good deal on one though.

I pre-ordered mine in May so I better be able to get it on the release. I knew it was gonna be crazy so as soon as I heard they were taking pre-orders I figured I'd better do it.

yeah, and probably half of them have the word box in the item description, so you drop 800+ to get the packaging while someone laughs their ass off and plays the game system and games you thought you were getting.

  • 11.14.2005 12:35 PM PDT

You can't preorder them anymore, it's to late. And if you can, expect it in no earlier than late December.

  • 11.14.2005 12:38 PM PDT

I bet it'll be fun to try to run into a place like Best Buy or SEARS and get one. I highly doubt its going to be a 'walk in and buy one' kinda deal. Good luck.

  • 11.14.2005 12:55 PM PDT

Wal Mart and other big stores don't ussually take preorders, so if you camp out there, you will be able to(if one of the first 10-50 in line)be able to get one.

  • 11.14.2005 1:00 PM PDT

if yopu preorder now, youll be lucky to get one before christmas. just go to walmart at midhnight on the 21st. or just go to best buy or toys r us and wait in line EARLY. thats what im going to end up doing since they told me i would get my preorder and now i cant. its gonna suck for them to do a 421$ refund.

I know lots of gamestop workers and best buy people etc say that you will be waiting until next year to get one. But guys its not true. Microsoft is smart enough to know how big the demand is for them and will therefore produce enough so that you could get a hold of one within the first few weeks. And heck there might even be a surplus buildup by the 4th or 5th week. Trust me there will be plenty to go around, just not on the launch day.

Im doubting that. As you say - they are smart.
If they really wanted to they could have produced enough of the consoles to meet the demand in the first batch sent out. But where's the fun in that? Seriously... If they only make a certain amount they can raise the prices because they know the competition will be harsh. Plus, if something goes wrong it's easier to take back and replace.

Anyway, id say im probably the luckyest guy around. My dad knows someone who preordered a few and can sell us 1. Says its a platimun, what ever that means. So i skip the waiting list, wohoo.
