Breakpoint is set on Reach, as far as I remember being said. This symbol appearing is interesting, but given Bungie's track record with Reach and the canon they've probably made Reach a Halo now... :P
because a few retcons ruined the entire franchise including the Forerunners, amirite?
Everyone just needs to move on, some retcons (almost all of them explainable anyway) aren't that big a deal.
Besides, the AI Committee of Minds probably had a say in the truth of it all...
You know that a retcon is basically another way of Bungie saying "lol, we -blam!- up"? Sure, with a universe as big as Halo's there are going to be inconsistencies but games like Mass Effect have an even bigger universe and have no retcons. (*Waits for Wolverfrog to say "RPG > FPS"*)
Also, I don't think you quite got the sarcasm in my post, you took it too literally...
no, I got it, I was more speaking to everyone who complains rather then just you.
And ME having a bigger universe then Halo? First off, Halo has numerous novels, several more games, comics, Halo Legends and the whole briliantly written Forerunner, Flood, Precursors, and Humanity mystery that is mind boggling (see the Iris campaign) wheras ME has only two--soon to be three--games, three books and a comic or two.
Regardless of the size of the worlds, I can safely say the Halo universe has the longest, most expansive and possibly most well-written story I've ever heard of, rivaling Shakespear.
That and Halopedia has six times as many articles as ME's on wiki
