What is this guy doing?

that's one of the great mysteries in the universe. I dunno, all his posts are ridiculous and useless.

All right all right, don't post anything unless it is on subject or has something to do with the subject at hand. If you just feel like talking your head off go over to the Flood.

My chapter was the best chapter in NY by... I guess you could say default. We were the only chapter he put up, we had no competition. I searched for all chapter on Long island (A certain Part of NY) yesterday and found many. ALOT. Of all of them, only 4 had a news post in the last 2 months, 3 of them in the last month. 2 of those 3 chapters are founded by myself. Its sad knowing 2/3 of the active chapters in my area are run by me. I guess its good that I keep them active but still. Most were still no passports and a lot hadn't had a post in over 6 months.
Mine was the other chapter. Yay. But the idea that if there's no posts in the chapter for a (insert time here) is a good one. But, as Poocho said, some people don't have the time to update, so the time would be longer than around 2-months. But 6 months would be good. If the people just kept updating every so often, their hard work, as Poocho said, would still be there. So 6 months would work.

P.S. This is probably a little late, this has probably been passed on, so sorry if it is.

i don't like this council crap. maybe there could be an appointed leader, and they could post polls and users could vote (like on decisions and stuff. )

That's why we'd choose people we trust for the council, because they have good ideas and will, naturally, help the Column.

Yo Halo53, I'm real happy for you and I'ma let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best bungie.net profiles of all time. OF ALL TIME!

Are we going to end up doing this or not? Its been a couple months and we really haven't heard anything from stosh or sketch on this. They have been busy picking mods and all but I am just wondering if this is going to happen and if so, when?

I hope this comes up soon, Sketch'll have to tell us. Stosh is on vacation. My guess is around the new hotness, though.

if we have jobs in it i wanna be a waiter for the president of it or his secret service or something or his limo driver

Should i make a chapter for this? Send me a message if I should. I would make forum and database dedicated to this and would make the chapter joining open so that all can come and voice their opinion.

There's a slight problem with that. You can't create chapters right now. The 7C is on it's last leg, which is breaking. Wait until the new hotness for chapters.

I wouldn't say the old 7th C's last leg is breaking. Maybe sprained, but it is holding up fine.

Yup. you may now call us unofficially the DUTCH council!
But i do hope we get a council, but only if the right people get the job.

With B.B. gone, the passion of Bungie.net has lessened.

Perhaps its a little too late for me to chime in, but I'll do it anyway.

To whomever thinks having a single "leader" rather than a council is a better idea, I say this:

Individuals can easily loose interest in the Seventh Collum (as I have... But I'll still make suggestions). Its happened before. If one person is put in charge, there's a very large chance that that person could suddenly stop doing what he was appointed (NOT elected) to do. If we have a group rather than an individual, if one looses interest, the governing body can still function. And all people elected to this council should have equal power because of that fact.

Anyway, what will this council actually be doing (specifically)? Or has that not been determined yet?

  • 07.20.2004 9:25 AM PDT

The b.net team are waiting for the new hotness to hit The Column before discussing this.

Ah, I see.

I'd ask you when to expect the new hotness, but all the mods use the same, maddening answer...

Is there any particular reason this dropped the sticky? I realize it kind of went off topic, but I think that this and the Seventh Column Revitalization Project kind of go hand in Hand. I'll throw a post in the aforementioned thread, with a link to this, just so it doesn't get completely buried.

I know. This thread had a large idea. And a good one, at that. This thread did go hand in hand with the revitalization. We will need a council for problems, and this shall be the one to solve it.

Thank Yoozel for my current actions, as he has pointed out the current state of Hotness with the chapters may merit a rekindling of this thread. In case you don't know -- I do this when the need arises.

Ouch, this one was dead before my time.

I've seen a lot of opinions on this thread, but I think that the SCC should be for promoting the Bungie Community, in a decidedly more off-line stance. We have a lot of tools for the safeguarding of B.net, and creating another system for dealings online is wanton problem solving, and an auxiliary we don't need.

Fanfests can be established, on a much broader scale. We can have actual events for the true Bungie fans, sanctified by the Council. I think the council should work as a grassroots team of members actually working to enlarge and enlighten the Bungie fanbase, not just policing it.

  • 10.23.2004 10:39 PM PDT

The Council would be more involved in managing the Column, which previously fell to Bungie employees to handle.
