Alright, after 10 pages of posting maybe we should compile all the positive and negative info into one clean post to know specifically what we need, want, and must keep out of an idea like this.
Here's my general idea:
This is on elections. Now, if this has already been talked about and decided upon then I am sorry for the inconveince. But here's my two cents. I believe that a mass message should be sent to all the chapters when an election comes along. From there, it would be the chapter creators' job to enforce the voting on thier members. Specific info can be sent back to the "officials" on which groups have submitted their votes and which have not. This would be a much more efficient way of gathering votes from the forumgoers and would also inspire more people to join chapters thus making B.net much more organized.
People would want to join chapters (and stay in them) because whenever an election came around the would want to get their vote in; only by staying in a chapter religiously (not leaving) would you know when an election arises (because they would be spontanious events which their dates would only be known by the "officials".) You see, the "officials" wouldn't publicly state when an election was taking place. They would ONLY send messages to chapter creators and the people in the respected chapters would get to vote. Anyone that isnt in a chapter would be totally oblivious to the fact.
To advise new people of the fact that elections are only done in this fashion, a sticky could be posted in one of the forums telling everyone that to be informed of a new election you must join a chapter. This would let people know that there are elections but only by joining a chapter and sticking
Those are my ideas and I hope they help.
