Subject: Reach was a Military Hub?

Don't worry, you're still your mom's favorite Bnet member.

Next time you play Tip of the Spear, look over the cliff edge. That's the battle we should have been in.
Bungie had so much potential for that epicness we've always wanted...
And the Long Night of Solace...oh my god. We should have been fighting between two huge behemoths, dodging crossfire from a Halcyon and a Battlecruiser or something while in the vacinity of a Super MAC

It's a big damn planet. The concept of one colony "the desert planet," "the city planet" the "military planet" or generally anything other than "the the farm planet" (Harvest says hi!) is laughable.

You got your secret launch facilities. You got your massive military maneuver. You got your creepy ONI base. You got your dead shipbreaking yard. That seems like a military presense to me.

Oh, and the S-IIs are mentioned here and there. Pay attention next time.

I think doing Halo:Harvest would has the making of a better game than Reach turned out to be (from a gameplayer perspective). Go back to the basics. To me it has the potential to satisfy the existing community aswell as newcommers. I feel Bungie would have had more scope to play around with story wise also (although perhaps canon would have been utterly decimated in the process which we don't want).

Having said all that, when you look back, at the vidocs particulary you can see the effort they put in. The jury is still out with me regarding the storyline of Reach.

im not sure if you knew this but the Spartan II program began on this planet, its the only place they ever knew as home. They were the overall saviors of humanity not SIII's, they were expendable like everyone else... Having mentioned the SII's here and there in a game that is about how their home was destroyed is a huge slap in the face considering they all died for it just like noble team but at least all of their origins have sturdy ground i'm sure i speak for a lot of people when i say the death noble team was hardly emotional and in other words unnecessary as is their existence.

I agree. Arbitrary mentions of Red Team don't mean much to me, I think it's a shame that we didn't see more of the Spartan-IIs, the Fleet, the Super MACs and a general sense that Reach was a stronghold bristling with military assets. There was a lot of opportunity in the game to show off a team of Spartan-IIs even if we still played as a Spartan-III. Sure we got Jorge in our squad but the more I think about it the less that makes sense, why was Jorge there at all??

"Undoubtedly this is the heretic's doing!"

If a Halo Wars 2 ever comes out, it should definintly focus on Reach. Only a RTS game can actually make and cover a epic battle on the planet and at least present the scope and scale of it better than Bungie has here.

I highly agree with this and have been saying that ever since I beat the game. You never, ever got a feeling of being in the thick of things in the game.

It just made me lol at the cutscene at the start of a level where theres about 50 warthogs driving towards the covie and thats pretty much it.

i agree 100% me and a few friends kicked that possibility around, its the best way to do it justicethe setting could be reach, tribute and under reach

and see its not like they couldn't of just had noble team and Red team and any other team they wanna make up work together, they cant say it would harm canon its apparent they don't care anyway...so why not just make a whole new story and take the good from the old one instead of just make a new story period.

...due to restraints on the engine and graphics.
And all that bragging that Joseph Tung and company did about Reach being there "Most ambitious game."

...my ass.

i think what they meant when they said swan song is really the end, but not in a good way, kinda like this is the last ride kinda way... We(Bungie) are going to drive this car(Halo Series) down a road until it dies get out and leave it for someone else(343 industries) if they want the wreck, meanwhile...We get in our new car(Activision) and take off into the sunset...
Thanks alot Bungie I think I'm glad to see you guys go, as sad as it pains me to say it its true.
