i value a sniper rifle more than a marine's life 10 times over.

i value marines because the covvies shoot at them not at me and they cover my scorpion.

In between somewhere, they just make doing lvls 5 alot less lonley becuase of all the chat and all the stuff! and get the feeling of "back up" in stead of solo mission. So thats why id rather save them than let them die. That they sometimes even in like the 3rd mission kept saying stuff like "save some for me"!

Really depends on the level and situation. If there is a big battle, let them fight. But if they arn't doing anything helpful or you need ammo, bust out the pistol whip.

I voted walking ammo

Mainly because Marines aren't much use than that! They're good to have around in a fight but they arn't very good at anything else.

personally i always preferred backup whether theyre useful or not. They're a good distraction, they're nice to have on the warthog and nice to have on a lonely mission. THis is hwy i prefer war games with lots of allies. Its a nice feeling. And plus if they die take the ammo.

human Shields, ammo dispensers, movings turrets, long range killers, friends, backup, whatever.
Marines Rule!

Of course. They are very useful... Except for on Legendary. Pssht. In AotCR, before I even reached their position, the Wraith had killed them, while the Ghost was picking off the survivors. Not very cool, dude.

Anyway, for the eviler, they are Human shields, ammo dispensers, and the 'You go first' guy.
For the greater, they give support (In some ways. Stupid frag throwing sonnuva-gun)... and uh, they actually do kill. (Except it takes 6 of them to finish off a Blue Elite... Seriously. And two of them died.)
For the Neutralness, they make levels less lonely, and they sound funny... Hehe.

I make it an extra objective to get all marines to live. I even go so far as to revert to last checkpoint if one dies. It makes the game more challenging when you're protecting them.

I like them as allies, cover fire, talk boxes, and human sheilds. But if they have a sniper or a magnum i take them out while in battle, that way the other marines A.I. can't really tell i've killed him.

usefull yes I have reverted to last check point on Legendary to save one marine. I also cannot bring myself to shoot one even for ammo. partially I blame this on the fact that they have saved my life so many times. and on t&r since you get rienforced when you lose so many marines I was on legendary I would get five marines 2 would die in the battle reinforcments come same thing happens. by the time I got to the grav lift I had roughly 30 marines with me. there was a huge battle on the pad in the center and every inch of it was covered in bodies blood and guts.

Well actually they are usefull, in certain situations.......Like if you throw a grenade and it hits a wall and bounces back at you........ ur not going to be the only thing that dies

for the most part theyre walking ammo, but on levels with warthogs i value them highly. on legendary, warthogs is their only use. like in AotCR, id rather have that warthog then the tank., at least for a few minutes.

YEAH AS A BUNCH OF HUMAN SHEILDS !
ON the level where you need to enter the grav lift when the hunters come down those cowards run to hide behind you and cause the hunters to shoot in your dirrection .
The only thing they are good for is ammo and cover fire and being a sheild or a distraction so you can concentrate on elites they will kill grunts and chase elites to the death but when a hunter appears they run like wimps sure they talk a good fight but when the poo hits the fan they cant be counted on at all............

marines are very useful. they carry frags n such and on legendary they give you a bit of breathing room since the covenant sometimes fires at THEM instead of you. then when they get killed you get to use their frags. YES!!!! i personally could live without them with the warthog. i was good enough to be able to run everything over anyways so they arent all that important where the warthog is concerned
