Subject: Only 300 million left?

Alright so right after the war ended it was said that only 300 million humans survived the war out of the 23 billion before the war, Once the Covenant reached Earth they only focused on Africa while the other continents were virtually untouched by the Covenant, Why was there only 300 million on Earth? Hell today we have close to 7 billion, what happened to all the civilians in the Americas, Asia, Europe, etc...

[Announcement Trailer] Halo: Forerunner

I lol'd at the absurd miscommunication that occurs whenever dibbs post something. Perhaps his brain is so highly evolved that he can no longer clearly communicate with lesser life forms, even among his own species.

It's 200 million. The Covenant did a planet wide invasion; it just wasn't featured in the games. They also had powerful weapons they weren't hesitant to use indiscriminately.

Once the Covenant reached Earth they only focused on Africa while the other continents were virtually untouched by the Covenant,

Miranda mentions extreme causalities from Orbital bombardment, the encyclopedia supports a world wide invasion where the population was cut in half within hours, and GoO mentions orbital bombardment taking place weeks before the start of Halo 3.

Once the Covenant reached Earth they only focused on Africa while the other continents were virtually untouched by the Covenant,

Where'd you hear that from?

-Africa
-America(Cleveland for sure.)
-Cuba
-Antarctica
-Australia

Those are confirmed areas attacked by the Covenant. Most of the Earth's major cities are likely in shambles. Even if the planet wasn't glassed, we suffered HUGE casualties.

Flying penguins. . .

Oh an honest note... I loled.

Forerunner architecture of some kind was probably under the ice, if there was any ice there... Think of AVP.

On a related note, ******'s mom has really nice boobs, and it doesn't take much booze or encouragement to get her to let the puppies out of the pen...if you know what I mean...

If there wasn't any ice, why wasn't earth already flooded O.o

Earth didn't look devasted that much, if so why didn't the coveant just blow up Rat's Nest much earlier and why was their civilian workers right by the portal? She could be BSing as much Hood was about how the land around the portal was glassed.

We saw a pretty tiny portion of the planet, you really can't say that.

And I'm pretty sure rats nest was in such a key location that they kept it hidden and under wraps until they needed it. Once MC and truth came back then time was running out. They had to use their greatest secret (a military base right next to the ark) to open up a hole in their defenses. If they had bothered to assault the ark from there in the weeks before MC returned then it would've been destroyed by then and they'd have nowhere to push from.

Ad for the workers: just a mistake by bungie imo. As we saw in odst the covenant had been digging up the ark for an entire month before truth arrived. The workers would've been evacuated then and there, not a month later.

Don't worry, you're still your mom's favorite Bnet member.

Actually, there are 200 million. Your information is wrong, the Covenant attacked many places on Earth, most major cities are most likely in ruin.

The casualties seem pretty sound for a worldwide battle with a high instance of orbital bombardment.

The Covies had a few months to soften the humans up while the Chief was on Delta Halo/Truth's ship. It sounds like most of the stuff went down after the S-IIs shipped out to Onyx.

The only other option I can think of is if humans evacuated Earth en masse then high-tailed it off into deep-space, away from the Covenant. The AI council/whoever made the Limited Edition booklet would then only count people left in UNSC space.

The Human Diaspora. I like the sound of that.
