Planning the cosmos for a healthier future.

Anyone else getting tired of playing "matches" against teams five times your team's average skill level? WTF happened to the matchmaking algorithm that sorted players into teams of relatively equal skill level? I've been playing on Social Big Teams that consisted entirely of Non-coms against teams of all officers (once, 6 of 8 were generals). Talk about your good times!! My dog could do a better job of matchmaking than the Bungie (MS?) team is managing these days. Maybe it's a way to "encourage" our migration to REACH?

Recently I have not been on the side of bungie for various reasons, but for this I have to make an acception.

This is how it always should have been. Social is supposed to be unranked, it should not matter wether you are 5 star gen or a recruit, you should all be put in the same game to make matchmaking faster and the only thing that should determine who you get partied up with is the search options:
eg. good connection, and my language.

If you want to get paired up with people of equal skill, search ranked.

No, it's just that people who can't adapt to Reach's playstyle (aka the "good" players who can't get over not having the BR, the pool to play from is totally different then when Reach wasn't out, it happens to all oder games once the new sequels come out

?

I rocked at reach, pretty much destoyed in every game I played. It was just a terrible game so went back to H3. people not playing reach has absolutely nothing to do with not been able to adapt. Its a noobs game, anyone can play it.

I can appreciate your opinion. However, things do seem to have changed since REACH was released. In ranked lists, ALL players are within a defined skill range. I'm only missing the team match-ups not being balanced when there are enough players, level 1 to level 50, to divide among the sides to make the play something other than a slaughterhouse. Other than clans or Friends teamed up, there's no reason for the matchmaking not to balance the teams with fairly equal TEAM AVERAGE skill levels. As it is, it's often hard to complete a game due to so many desertions due to ridiculously lop-sided teams. I mean, who wants to get killed at every re-spawn for 15 minutes? It's now happening about a quarter of the time to whole teams. Team Slayer matches that end 100 to 29 just shouldn't happen, particularly in a Social playlist. It's bad enough when high skill level players keep their Social playlist game experience levels artificially low to go out and mow down the noobs as Privates, but when the matchmaking algorithm doesn't even try to start out with balanced teams, I don't buy it. Those games just aren't fun, and with only a few hundred playing, if it keeps up like this, Halo 3 will go the way of Halo 2 all too soon. I'd hate to see that, but someone's not minding the store, and I may just have to stop shopping there.
