halo fall of reach novel, only logical way to go (considering its the introduction story to the universe and such)

I don't get it. What was so great about Halo 1's story line? It had no character devolopment, and seemed pretty generic if you ask me. It was just another us vs them, but when Halo 2 came it had substantial character devolopment, especially with the Arbiter, the mystery surrounding the Gravemind and how you get caught between a rock and a hard place with Gravemind and Truth's opposite goals was incredible. It was overall better written.

With Halo 1 I never felt the sense "we're screwed" but that was all their in Halo 2.

So what was so great about Halo 1's story?

Still think FoR is the right way to go, as it IS the introduction story, regardless of how you see Halo 1's story.

Halo 2's story, btw, showed both what you think Halo 1's showed, how faith can be used to manipulate the minds of the masses, and how knowledge can be used as the most powerful weapon ever made (with the Gravemind. Note: "I am a monument to all of your sins" is saying he knows everything about you, acts as a judge of your sins and sort of IS you in a way, as he is everything.)

There has been confirmation on a number of sites of a movie (i'm pretty sure with Steven Spielberg as head). And all evidence points towards one of the books. Since Reach was made into a game and supersedes some book areas, i think it would be, and would like to see, either First Strike or Ghosts of Onyx.

Halo 1... start form the beginning of the games.

Multi-trillionaire modern cowboy.

That's right.

Halo 2 I think, second Halo CE though, but h2 has a exellent balance between characters, action, and the covenant religion.. and skipable parts.. I don't think the flood would be very attractive for a movie.

I think for a first film, to see if it works, make something outside the main trilogy or from the point of a marine. Spartans have the problem of not showing emotion what with helmets, unless the helmet is off.

Halo 2. It was the most interesting and had a lot of variety in terms of characters and environments.

"As the rich wage war, it's the poor who die"
"We've all been lost for most of our lives every where we turn more hatred surrounds us"

Halo 2. The storyline in Halo 2 was more epic because it shows the sides of both human and covenant and learn more about the forunners.

I think it hould be from an ODST squad. They at least express emotion, and are almost as good as SPARTANs. Overpowering a Marine character would be stupid, since they are so weak.

The SPARTANs should be portrayed as most civilians see them: Emotionless war-bots. (In Reach, Jorge tries to comfort the girl whose father died, and she doesn't want him to touch her. THen Emile makes a remark about them all being SPARTANs. I'm pretty sure that it was supposed to convey the feeling that SPARTANs are alienated)
