Subject: What Exactly Are Elites?

The true origins of the Sangheili have been covered up by ONI, of course.

But rumour has it that they are actually descendants of modern Humans, many millennia from now. They were then transported back in time by ONI, where upon the foundations for their culture were laid, as per the Halo storyline.

The reason for this time-travel experiment was for the Sangheili to join the Covenant and then wage war upon Humanity. This would in turn allow ONI to gain more funding for the war effort from HIGHCOM, who were desperate for the war to cease due to mass shortages in Cappuccino's and Ginsters sausage rolls.

Hope it helps.

Isn't ONI really a cover up for even more massive cover up?

smart, interesting, seems out of place.

Official fan of Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty, (Problem with that?) Halo, and Bungie, also a total gaming junkie.

I think they're mammal-like reptiles. I don't really know exactly what they are though.

If you got the limited edition of Halo 3, there was a Bestiarium included. The musings there were of a Forerunner installation Monitor, I believe, so we could take those to be fact.

I don't recall exactly, but in terms of analogy, it suggested something similiar to reptiles/dinosaurs. So I would say "dino" is not a completely inaccurate description.

And then your other species (kind of obvious if you think about it)...

Hunters: Annelids
Jackals/Skirms: Avians
Grunts: Crustaceans
Drones: Arthropods, what else?
Brutes: Mammalian (were they more related to rhinos or apes?)

looking at their buildup, they might lay eggs, chickens and frogs, infact many anphibians can easily somewhat describe the sangheili(covenant tongue for elite). I believe that, looking like it could be a reptile or amphibian, may use external fertilization. Being evolved as they are, they would obviously be a bit more different than us, we are mammals, but many other planets may have different existance readings. there could be inteligent birds on uranus, sea creatures could be using waterproof ipods for all we know! either way it seems they are very similar to what we have, but much more of an IQ than a frog.

They are reptile analogues, and don't really have an earth equivalent.

Dark Neptune, a young amateur astronomer whose gaming life is no different from other teenagers of his age, though he controls it more strictly then others.

This a question about what exactly elites are. I think they're theropods(dinosaurs) but so people think otherwise. Does anyone know what exactly they are? The books were never too specific about it, and I've wondered for a while.

On another note: if elites are indeed theropods, that would mean they lay eggs, yes?

Their ancestors were originally dinosaurs on Earth, who secretly achieved space flight and slipspace travelling before an asteroid cause the mass extinction on Earth 65 million years ago, as we have come to know it.

As the asteroid wiped out any and all traces of their space flights, modern day scientists have therefore concluded that ALL dinosaurs were extinct this way.

So during those years those Elite "dino" ancestors found another planet far far away to inhibit it. After so many more million years, eventually the start of Forerunner-Flood events begun.

Dino Extinction - 65 million (Earth) years ago.

Forerunner-Flood war - 100 000 (?) years ago.

Makes sense right? 26th century Elites are just dinosaurs that have evolved, just like us humans.

Tomes of the History of the Mirratord
For the honor of the Mirratord!

Until such time as all we imagine comes to visit us (or we go to visit them) then we'll have to keep guessing.

I think the biology of it all would go right past me, but if I got to see inside one's skin, I'd have a pretty good idea of what I was dealing with. Nervous, circulatory, lymphatic, digestive, reproductive... all bio-systems are direct attributes that lend to behavioral patterns.

So if we know what something is, then we'll know why it does what it does!

Just remember people, whatever you say is being watched by aliens! LOL Seriously... our Net is hardly a closed thing. Episodes of I Love Lucy have passed up Voyager!

And you know what they say - if you can think it up, then odds are good that it already exists. There's nothing new under the sun! So just wait for it, people, wait for it - and try not to gawk openly when you finally do break the ice.

Saurians.

Well, Pseudo Suarians since it calls Brutes psuedo-ursines, but it call elites just normal saurians in many places.

As agreeing with the countless other replies they can't really be put in the same category as earthly being. And i believe, as stated in a certain book, that they have been around for thousands of years worshiping forerunner technology on sanghelios so they couldn't possibly be theropods unless being classified by look
