First of all I wasn't gonna read through 260+ pages for my answer.
I recently got Halo PC (Today) and to my amazement my dumb@$$ forgot to turn off my firewall. So for those of you who aren't able to connect to multiplayer just turn off your Firewall (if equipped) then wala! it should work now. So don't do what I did and try to reconnect after each failure If you find yourself reading this then do what it says and TURN OFF YOUR FIREWALL AND OTHER STUFF LIKE IT!

Some firewalls cannot be turned off. I havent been able to host servers for years because I am wirelessly connected to a router. This means I need the router, but there is no way to turn off its firewall. I have attempted (against my best interest) to host a server with the WIndows firewall off (the only software firewall i have) but this did not work.

Go to PortForward if you want to try and figure out how to host using your router. This site has a lot of info on port forwarding and shows you how to configure many different routers, as well as having all the info for many specific applications (Halo included) which are listed here: ClickHere

Good luck!
