I included Death Island, which is a vehicle level! It's very fun for race and CTF ;)

ya i agree but i didnt include it because all the maps i put in r xbox ones. i rlly feel tat the halo that one started on effects which maps r better thought of. ya pretty confusing. for example i played halo 2 for a bit and then started on halo 3. then i went to odst, then halo 2 more and finally halo ce. seeing as you guys liked halo ce maps a lot, im guessing u guys played halo ce first.

It is all about boarding action from Halo: CE

  • 12.05.2010 10:20 PM PDT

I've realised that I've been expelled from my mother's uterus as if being shot from a canon, towards a barn door covered in rusty hooks and old nail files. It's a matter of how you use the intervening time in an intelligent and ironic way, and try not to do anything dastardly to your fellow creatures.

Blood gulch

Beaver creek

Zanzibar

H1:

Death Island
Sidewinder

H2:

Coagulation
Zanzibar

H3:

Valhala
Sandtrap
Standoff
Guardian

Reach:

Breakpoint
Tempest
Paradiso
Spire

I think that is all of my favorites, but I'm sure I'm missing some. I only posted larger maps, as that is what I usually have a strong attachment to. So some of the smaller maps I definitely like, but I feel that smaller maps are more replaceable whereas larger ones leave a special feeling, to me at least. For example; If I see a video showing Coagulation, I am affected quit strongly, but if I see a video of Battle Creek (In my opinion a rather good map) I am not so strongly affected. Also I'm rather attached to Coagulation in particular because I probably spent more time there then anywhere else in Halo, and it was just an awesome map. And no, Hemorrhage does not replace it.

EDIT: Added Guardian, as it is one of the rare, small maps, that I am attached to.

that doesnt rlly tell me why...

I don't care. I really don't.

My top favorites of each Halo game:

H1:
Blood Gulch

It's simple, big with lots of vehicle combat. What more can I say?

H1 (PC):
Danger Canyon

I loved Halo for XBox, but online on Danger Canyon on PC was what turned me.
Me, three other guys riding on our teamates tank treads into battle, no idea if a rocket was going to fly from up on the canyon walls or turn the corner and find two enemy tanks waiting for us. No mics, so it was plain and silent, and no horror game could top the suspense I've had in that singular map.

H2:
Headlong

With towereing skyscrapers, nice polished roads, cramped inside lobbies and giant open industrial zones, that map was everything you could ask for in urban combat plus, amazingly, more. You could take a hog and go across open ground, take a banshee and swoop around the buildings or just go on foot with a BR and a shotgun on your hip. It was urban combat perfectly refined into one epic map.

H3:
Sandbox

I'd have to say Sandbox. Foundary showed what Forge could do, but Sandbox let you do it. You could build anything. Want to build a base in the middle of the desert? Sure thing. Sniper roost in the sky? No problem. Grifball in the Crypt? Definitely. How about an epic, massive vehicle battle by overloading the map? Oh yeah. It was everything you could ask for in Halo 3s limited, but still amazing, Forge tool.

Halo Reach:
Anchor 9

This was tough because Forge World is amazing, but in my sense it's not a map but a canvas.
So Anchor 9 takes Reach's prize. It's CQB, which is my favorite style, with very easy layout and a quick shortcut where you can go right across the level with ease, however the level itself just might kill you if you make a mistake.
And outside is the most aweing, most beutiful vista in my opinion: Reach in it's glory, Epsilon Eridani glowing in the backround and a Covenant/Human Battle off in the ditance. Amazing.

In order of greatest to least:

5. Sandbox
4. Headlong
3. Blood Gulch
2. Anchor 9
1. Danger Canyon

P.S. Why isn't Danger Canyon or Anchor 9 on your list? Maybe you don't like them. :P

I'm caught between Headlong and Waterworks being my favourite, both were so big but had great BTB games in them, if done properly.
